Akku ibm asm 92p1138

TOSHIBA Satellite L735 Battery

Dell's Latitude 7370 ultrabook is a portable and versatile business-focused laptop, but it is also sleek and offers a variety of extensive configuration options. This in-depth Latitude 7370 review details the device's many strengths, as well as some unfortunate shortcomings.
Touted as the world's smallest business-class laptop with a 13-inch display, the Dell Latitude 13 7000 series is an evolution of the popular consumer-centric Dell XPS 13 family, with enhancements designed for businesspeople. The machine is slim compared to the average bulky business laptop, and it sports Dell's InfinityEdge display and weighs just 2.48 pounds.

Our Latitude 7370 review unit came with 128GB of storage and 8GB of RAM, with a 1.1GHz Intel Core M processor (m5-6Y57) under the hood [ Find it on Amazon – *What’s this?* ]. Our 7370 has a full-HD resolution (1920 x 1080), non-touch display and an aluminum lid. It cost $1,449 at the time of publication.

The Latitude 7370 has a large number of configuration options that businesses can tailor to their precise requirements. For example, the 13.3-inch display is available with two different resolutions: The non-touch, full-HD version we reviewed, and a higher-end QHD+ (3200 x 1800) touch screen. A premium carbon fiber lid option is also available, but it costs an additional $70.The Latitude 7370's solid-state drive (SSD) is available with storage capacities of 128GB, 256GB and 512GB, and RAM options of 4GB, 8GB and 16GB. All models also have microSD card slots.

The build quality of the laptop feels very robust, and you can hold it by one corner of the screen when it is fully open, and it barely flexes. Two rubber feet line the bottom of the chassis and run parallel down its length, and they reduce potential slippage. The bottom chassis of the laptop is made of the same soft-touch black plastic as Dell's XPS series, and it similarly accumulates fingerprints very quickly, which is unfortunate. And like the XPS series, Dell placed the Latitude 7370's webcam at the bottom left corner of its display. The awkward camera angle captures distorted images, so it's not ideal for frequent video calling. The Latitude 7370 is mostly bloatware free — except for the preinstalled copy of Candy Crush Soda Saga. The machine comes with some factory-loaded apps, but they are mostly unobtrusive. A couple of them, such as Dell Power Manager and Dell Touchpad, are actually quite useful.

Despite its low-voltage microprocessor and the Windows 10 Pro OS, the Latitude 7370 is relatively responsive. We tested it with Microsoft Office installed, Outlook set up with both Exchange and Gmail (IMAP), Google Chrome as a browser, OneDrive for cloud storage and Skype for other communications. With this configuration, it never felt like 7370's microprocessor struggled to keep up. However, we didn't try heavier stuff, such as Photoshop or video encoding, and full-on gaming is probably out of the question, unless you plan to play lightweight games, such as Tetris or the bundled Candy Crush.

The keyboard is a good size, and it feels closer to that of a desktop keyboard than other ultraportables. It's still not full-size, which is somewhat disappointing, because many of the most popular high-end ultrabooks, including the 12-inch MacBook, have full-sized keyboards. You cannot click the 7370's multi-touch trackpad, and it may take some getting used. However, the two buttons at the bottom work well once you get the hang of them. Dragging two fingers vertically scrolls the page up and down, and a pinch gesture zooms in or out. The Dell Touchpad app lets you change settings, including sensitivity and custom multi-finger gestures.

Does the Latitude 7370 offer a "full day" computing away on a single charge? That depends. Battery life varies widely depending on the tasks you perform, which could be attributed to the Intel Core M processor.Continued use involving heavier tasks, such web browsing with multiple opens tabs, and video streaming, for example, quickly decrease the life of a fully charged battery to six hours or less. Less-intensive tasks, such as replying to email and writing in Word, drain power much slower, and the 7370 got as much as nine hours of life.

Power users and travelers will appreciate the Latitude 7370's ability to control the device's charge rate through its Dell Power Manager app. The "ExpressCharge" setting powers up a dead 7370 to about 80 percent in an hour when turned off, or up to 100 percent in approximately two hours. We tested this claim and found that with ExpressCharge enabled, the battery reached 59 percent after the first hour and 93 percent at the end of the second hour. Though our experience doesn't match Dell's claim, it's still impressive because you can fully recharge in slightly more than two hours.

Businesspeople who work mostly at a desk can choose the "Primarily AC Use" setting to lower the charge threshold. The setting charges the laptop more slowly, which is designed to extend the battery's life. You can create a "Custom" setting to specify when you want to start and stop powering up. And the "Adaptive" option automatically sets charge time based on your usage.

The Latitude 7370 gets a little warm on the bottom when used for extended periods, which isn't uncommon, and it is completely silent when in use. The laptop has no cooling vents at all; they're supposedly not necessary thanks to the Intel processor's 4.5W Thermal Design Power (TDP), which means the machine doesn't get very hot. (TDP is a measurement of the maximum amount of heat generated by a computer's CPU.)

One of the Latitude 7370's key strengths is its variety of business-centric features, such as a built-in fingerprint scanner (a $20.29 add-on) and smartcard reader. The touch fingerprint reader works better than other similar scanners on rival laptops, but it's not as reliable as those found on newer smartphones, which is disappointing.

The Latitude 7370 has two Thunderbolt USB-C ports, a micro HDMI port, and a USB-A 3.0 port. One of the two Thunderbolt ports can be plugged into a portable battery to power up the 7370. (Dell offers a USB Type-C external battery that it says provides up to an addition 20 hours of battery life for the Latitude 7370.) The machine's USB 3.0 port is handy for hooking up existing USB hardware without having to purchase adapters, and the Thunderbolt 3 ports promise up to 40Gbps data transfers.

The Latitude 7370 also comes with optional WWAN and WiGig wireless, and the latter option lets it to dock wirelessly with a WiGig station to expand available ports and for faster data transfer than is available via 802.11ac Wi-Fi.The Latitude 7370 is an attractive and well-designed laptop that is well suited for business users with modest computing requirements. It offers security features that are not available in many consumer laptops, such as a fingerprint and smartcard reader, as well as the latest wired and wireless connectivity options. The PC has its shortcomings, but overall it's a solid option for travelers who seek a functional, portable, and most importantly business-centric laptop.

These days the laptop market is a crowded, competitive arena and product differentiation is hard to come by, beyond sexy styling or the race for ultra-thin. However, Dell’s Alienware gaming products division is one of the first to market with a laptop innovation that definitively stands out among the scads of also-ran products in the market. Back at CES 2016 Dell debuted the Alienware 13 notebook with OLED (Organic LED) display and it delivers some of the best visuals I’ve ever seen in a notebook, hands-down. OLED displays offer dramatically better saturation, contrast and pop versus traditional IPS panels, as well as superior viewing angle coverage. OLED displays also have historically been more expensive, however, and until recently have been relegated to smaller use cases as with smartphones, or crazy expensive deployment in HD TVs. The good news is, laptop-sized OLED displays are now becoming attainable from a cost standpoint and some manufacturers like Dell, Lenovo and HP are beginning to equip them in new or existing designs.

Side-by-side versus a traditional laptop display, the Alienware 13 OLED is like night and day comparatively. I had a chance to review the machine and its deep blacks, vibrant, well-saturated colors and viewing angles are sublime. I even compared it to Dell’s own XPS 15 with its gorgeous, near bezelless Infinity Edge display, and though smaller obviously, the Alienware 13 offered significantly more punch even though it’s only rated for a standard issue 300 nits brightness. I tested the 2560X1440 OLED model which felt well-balanced in terms of screen real estate, though I tend to prefer slightly larger machines (15″ OLED XPS 15 Dell?).

Beides bietet Wiko.

Was hindert mein Gerät am korrekten Standby?

Lenovo Thinkpad R500 Battery

Typing is reasonably comfortable on the P35Xv5’s keyboard. The chiclet-style keys are well spaced considering the addition of a full numberpad, but they do feel a bit spongy; vigorous touch-typists will notice some flex in the keyboard. Considering it’s a gaming notebook, the absence of a backlit keyboard is disappointing. Instead, we’re treated to a basic white outline on the WASD keys.

The notebook’s poor build quality comes across in the trackpad as well. On the review model, right-clicking depresses the trackpad much more than the left-click, so clicking feels uneven. Neither the keyboard or trackpad are terrible, but neither are they good enough for such an expensive notebook. The P35 comes in various storage configurations; this review model has a 256GB SSD as well as a 1TB hard disk. With Windows 10 installed on the SSD, the P35Xv5 takes only 26 seconds to boot up.

The SSD uses the faster M.2 PCI Express interface (as opposed to SATA), which means it can reach even higher speeds. The P35 reached incredibly fast 1,861MB/sec read speeds in the AS SSD benchmark, which is around 3x faster than a traditional SATA-6 Samsung 850 EVO SSD. Write times weren’t nearly as impressive, reaching just 130MB/sec.Overall, the fast SSD means that the P35Xv5 feels incredibly fast to use; however, you’ll struggle to fit your Steam library on it. So games, video files and larger applications are best installed on the larger 1TB 7,200rpm hard disk.

While the P35Xv5 is available with a 4K resolution display, the model on review has a far more sensible Full HD 1080p display. With a 15.6-inch screen size this equates to 141 pixels per inch, which is reasonably sharp, although individual pixels are still noticeable on closer inspection.I say "sensible", because as nice and sharp as a 4K (3,840 x 2,160) resolution would be, it would absolutely destroy your frame rate in games (not to mention battery life). Even the Nvidia GTX 980M in this version of the P35Xv5 would struggle to run modern games at 30fps in 4K. Sticking with a 1080p resolution means you can enjoy much higher frame rates and have a far smoother gaming experience, which is pretty important for a gaming notebook.

In terms of the screen quality, the IPS panel is actually pretty good. Viewing angles are solid and colours are vibrant. At 306 nits, it’s bright too. You won’t have a problem seeing the screen if you’re using the laptop in a bright environment. The P35Xv5 scored 80% in the sRGB test, which means colours are reasonably accurate. It’s by no means a professionally calibrated display, so if you’re a photo or video editor who requires colour accuracy then you might want to give this one a miss – but it’s definitely good enough for most uses.Overall I’m impressed by the display quality. Watching movies, playing games and browsing the web all look great on the P35Xv5.
Windows 8’s reception so traumatised Microsoft the company drew a clear line under the operating system. To emphasise this, Windows skipped a version moving direct from 8 to 10.

One reason desktop and laptop owners didn’t warm to Windows 8 was because of its touch screen features. Not only could most people not use them on their existing devices, but the touch screen apps and features were often confusing in a non-touch context. It wasn’t much better on a touch-screen PC. Switching between two modes was awkward.

Windows 8 made more sense on a tablet.
When Microsoft’s Surface arrived we saw what the software giant had tried to do. While it wasn’t perfect, Surface with Windows 8 was a plausible alternative to iOS or Android tablets[1].Android and iOS were born mobile. They were phone operating systems first. Although moving them to tablets wasn’t seamless, it was straightforward. For Windows the transition was rougher. It’s no accident that if we’re strict about the term, most popular Windows 10 tablets aren’t tablets at all.

They are hybrids. No-one considers buying a Surface Pro without also buying a keyboard at the same time. The same applies to models from Huawei and Samsung.
You never see people using Windows 10 tablets in the portrait phone orientation. They are almost always used in landscape mode. Like laptops.Surface Pro users look like they are using laptops, because that’s how they are working. Hybrid tablets are, in effect, an alternative laptop design. While you could say something similar about the iPad Pro and some Android models, at least they keep their born-mobile operating systems.

You can sit on the sofa with an iPad Pro in the portrait orientation. Sure, you can do the same with Surface, but it’s not as natural.
If Surface and other Windows 10 hybrids are, in effect, a different take on laptop design, they have a few obvious disadvantages compared with more conventional laptops.First, they are expensive. Surface Pro 4 prices start at around NZ$1850 if you include a keyboard. There’s a big performance jump between the cheapest model and the lowest Intel i5 model which would take the price up to around $2000.

You can get a lot of conventional laptop for the same money. Prices for Ultrabooks with an Intel i5 processor start at less than NZ$1000. Or you could buy a lot of iPad or Android tablet.
Second, Surface Pro battery life remains terrible. This may not be the case with the Huawei and Samsung hybrids. Not only do you get a less active battery life from a Surface Pro 4, but the battery doesn’t last long on standby either.

You can flip the power off on, say, the HP Spectre Windows laptop — review coming soon — and know there will be plenty of juice later in the day, or the next day or the day after.
That’s not the case with a Surface Pro. Come back later the same day and you may need to bring the charger.Third, while Windows 10 hybrids can run most of the vast Windows software catalog, there aren’t many tablet optimised Windows apps. You end up doing everything in the Windows browser. That may not be bad for you. You may prefer to work that way. But it is not the same smooth experience you’ll get with an Android or iOS tablet.

When there are Windows 10 tablet-style apps, developers give them less love. Developers update Windows tablet apps slower or less often than their Android or iOS versions. They’re not being difficult, they are responding to market demand.Perhaps the most disappointing aspect of Windows 10 tablets is how they display non-tablet Windows apps. At times the screen is a dog’s breakfast.
Load up a tablet-style app from Microsoft’s Windows Store and you’ll get crisp text, clear lines, smooth graphics. All good. Now go and load an old-school Windows app. There’s a chance the text is tiny, not resized to account for the high resolution screen. If that’s not the case, then instead of showing larger text, the pixels from small text sizes are blown up leaving blurry, hard to read writing.

Why does this post’s headline say Windows 10 laptops are better than tablets? As we’ve seen, Windows 10 tablets are used in much the same way as laptops. Yet, apart from weight, they don’t have many obvious advantages.
Meanwhile, they have poor battery life and there is not much decent Windows 10 tablet software. It isn’t the focus of this post, but most laptops also offer better keyboards. There’s nothing foolish about buying a Surface Pro 4 or any other Windows 10 tablet. The best are fine devices. I’d consider one for my use. Hybrid sales show Windows 10 tablets hit a nerve with customers.

Yet four generations on from the first Surface models, they still haven’t met their full potential. Windows 10 tablets could be an incredible productivity tool, but they are not there yet.Every hour, a new Kickstarter campaign goes under the spotlight, promising to achieve something that has never been done before.Sometimes, these ambitious projects prove to be successful, while some other times they do not raise up to the challenge. The Basslet is one of the winning Kickstarter projects, and we are going to look at it, in detail, today. The device is, in fact, a wearable subwoofer for your body, designed to provide the wearer with a physical experience for personal, mobile listening. The Basslet accessory allows you to experience powerful bass beats anywhere you go, mimicking in its concept the idea of a concert environment.

At a first glance, the device looks more like a smartwatch. However, the shape hides a proprietary haptic feedback engine and a built-in rechargeable battery pack. The sound engine is quite powerful, enabling the wearer to reach the entire bass frequency spectrum. You can turn it up or down, all depending on how much bass power you want to enjoy.

Chromebooks continue to be big sellers for those looking for an affordable yet powerful alternative to a traditional laptop. In fact, now that Google has begun the process of bringing Google Play and Android apps to Chromebooks, they are becoming even better value for money. If you are in the market for a Chromebook and if you are an Amazon Prime member, then there is quite a good deal currently available on the Acer Chromebook 15 CB5-571-C09S.

The Acer Chromebook 15 is one of the largest display Chromebooks on the market as this one comes equipped with a 15.6-inch Full HD display. Inside, this is a Chromebook which is available in a number of RAM and storage configurations although today’s deal is on the best spec option, which boasts 4GBR RAM and a 32GB SSD. An Intel Celeron (3205U) 1.5 GHz dual-core processor comes powering the Acer Chromebook 15, while the battery on offer is said to last for 9 hours before needing to be recharged.

Batteria Lenovo ThinkPad X61

Dell latitude d820 Notebook Battery

Such processing power with massive display, backlit keys and a superior lag free performance costs a good amount of battery life. Asus claims its ROG GL552VW is backed by a 4Cell 48Whrs battery. In our tests, the laptop performed below average as it managed to stay alive for almost 3 hours on regular usage. The company can work on the particular department for sure.Another factor that we couldn't help ignoring and what gamers might like was that the powerhouse laptop despite running multiple applications and browser tabs, stays cooler than some other gaming laptops out there. Not only does it stay cooler but also quieter than others.
Clearly, Asus ROG GL552VW seems to be an upgrade for the company's previous gaming laptop models, specifically the Asus ROG GL552JX. It has all the power an average gamer can ask for in a PC laptop. It also is one of the options that users might want to consider given the Rs 82,490 price tag. Similar specifications can be found on the Dell's new Alienware 15 laptops as well but they are likely to cost you an arm and a leg.

When it comes to factors like cooling system and looks/design, the laptop leaves no stone unturned to impress users. Performance-wise there is a little difference on the surface as compared to competitors. The display is decent, Windows 10 brings more productivity power, and Asus' own set of technology enhances the overall gaming experience. However, the device is not for on-the-go users taking into account its below average battery life, size and a bulky weight.
Lots of claims are made about which browser is better or worse for a device’s battery life. Can a browser really make that much of a difference? Yes indeed, but determining just how much of a difference and whether it even matters to your individual use case is the difficult part.I began testing the question of different web browsers’ impact on battery life about two months ago, and what I’ve concluded is that there’s a lot of work to be done here.

What’s generally wrong with browsing tests
I’ve read about people using browsing as a rundown test for laptops but I have concerns about how that’s done. As you know, the internet is a dynamic living organism. What I get when I point my browser at PCWorld.com at 2:14 a.m. EDT on August 29, is going to be different than what I get on 8 a.m. on January 1. Even trying to browse with the same laptop just minutes apart could yield quite a different experience in terms of Flash ads, embedded videos, and other dynamic elements. That’s not even mentioning that the route the packets take to reach your screen could differ considerably moment to moment. These and other uncontrollable variables are enough to scare me off of running comparative tests using the live internet.

Enter EMBC BrowsingBench
EMBC is a small benchmarking outfit that claims its BrowsingBench test removes the variability in testing browsers. The benchmark runs on Linux from a USB key. You boot into Ubuntu on a laptop that’s connected via ethernet to a wireless router, and then connect your test laptop to that router’s Wi-Fi.
You select between page types, how long you want the test to dwell on a page, and even set the bandwidth you want simulated. The pages are stored and served by the benchmark, which means every single page and every single Flash ad is the same.

I configured BrowsingBench with a rather long "dwell” time on each page, rather than just jamming through a bunch of pages. I figured people don’t browse that way so what’s the value of it.If you were to watch the benchmark run, it would look like a person went to a site, scrolled down maybe a third of the page, paused, scrolled another third, paused, and so on.As much as I think EMBC’s BrowsingBench is pretty nifty, it’s far from perfect. The test is actually designed to scale to phones, tablets, and even set-top boxes. It includes webpages that are pure mobile sites as well as the desktop versions (I selected only the desktop versions), but the pages are clearly very light workloads for a PC.

The test is also designed for single-tab browsing. That’s just not realistic today. EMBC officials tell me they’re working on heavier page loads for the next version of BrowsingBench, but you have to go with the benchmark you have, not the one you want. That doesn’t discount the results I’ll show you here today, but you should know that they reflect a light-duty-browsing scenario.
I used the same Toshiba Radius 12 that I used for my media-player shootout. This laptop has a Core i7 Skylake CPU, 8GB of RAM, an M.2 SSD, and an Ultra HD 4K panel with 10-point touch. With its 41-watt battery, battery life is a little underwhelming. That’s to be expected though, as both 4K resolution and touch can be draining. I ran all of my tests at 155 nits, which is a reasonable brightness for an office environment where you are trying to save power.

The laptop was running Windows 10 Home with the latest updates installed prior to starting the tests. Once I updated the laptop, it stayed off the Internet to keep the OS at a consistent state. To test the accuracy of the benchmark, I ran repeated tests in Chrome (each of which took several hours) and the results were within four minutes of each other. I used a LInksys 802.11n router for the tests, which was about two feet from the test laptop.Remember, I began my testing about two months ago so the browser versions are what was current at that time. For example, this was started prior to Opera pushing out its power-saving-mode version. The browsers I tested include: Chrome 50, Firefox 46, Edge 13.1, Opera 37, and Internet Explorer 11. (I did try a beta of Opera 39 with its power-saving mode switched on much later but ran into an issue where pages would not load correctly.)

As Firefox and Opera do not include Flash support by default, I installed the Adobe Flash plugin for both. All the browsers were running Flash 21.0.0. The only 64-bit browser was Microsoft’s Edge. The rest were all the 32-bit versions, which is the default browser of choice even if you’re running a 64-bit OS.This is a lot of lead up to something that’s a little anticlimactic. My testing with a "light” browser load shows that Microsoft makes the most power-efficient browser, and the most power-inefficient one. Yes, Microsoft’s Edge 13.1 browser was clearly the winner here. I hit 385 minutes with the Edge browser, which is almost an hour more than Internet Explorer 11 lasted in browsing.
Google’s much-maligned Chrome (which has a reputation for being a power hog) pulled into second place with about half an hour less battery life than Edge. Firefox was just about as bad as Internet Explorer, and Opera was on par with Chrome.

Under a light browsing load with some Flash content, Microsoft offers the best and the worst browser for battery life. The thing is, you were probably expecting far more dramatic results. Kinda like Microsoft’s own test that it released this week. If you didn’t catch it, Microsoft testers browsed various websites (on the open Internet apparently) while looking at the power consumption so the testers could measure power consumption. Microsoft’s tests—conducted on the open internet apparently, and using a special instrumented Surface Book—showed from 36 percent to 53 percent better battery life over the competition when browsing in Edge. In a video test, Edge edged out Opera's new power-saving mode by 17 percent, bested Firefox by 43 percent, and Chrome by a whopping 70 percent.

The company also showed all four browsers running a streamed video until they tapped out with Edge again taking the lead.Microsoft further showed telemetry from "millions” of Windows 10 machines that it has captured, which supports its results (umm, does anyone else think it's creepy that your OS is dutifully reporting anonymous telemetry data to be used for marketing purposes?).I don’t actually doubt Microsoft’s numbers. In fact, they reinforce my own personal experience using various browsers. Chrome "seems" to cause the battery to plummet, while Edge "seems" to sip power during use.

But that’s just my anecdotal experience and without the ability to measure it reliably, I’ll just leave it at that. And to be perfectly honest, I still use Chrome, except when I’m really trying to maximize battery life. Then I switch to Edge.So here’s the thing. My own tests shows Edge has a clear power advantage in light browsing chores; it’s just not as dramatic as Microsoft’s own tests. But the truth is actually more complicated because our browsing habits are so different, and can change from day to day. If you play a game or use Outlook all day, you can make a pretty good guess about how each will impact battery life. A browser though is a window to the unlimited and ever-changing Internet and no one uses it the same way.
Do you sit with 10 tabs of Flash- and video-heavy webpages open all day? Or do you sit in Google Docs for eight hours? Do you park your browser on YouTube or some shady streaming website for long stretches? All three of those use cases will likely have very different effects on battery life and going by anyone’s generic "browser battery-life” figures doesn't make much sense.

Thankfully, Lenovo has a solid track record of creating great notebook keyboards and the Yoga 900S is no exception. The Chiclet-style are slightly smaller than full size but are adequately spaced apart to prevent excess typos. Surprisingly, the keyboard delivers an impressive amount of travel with a relatively deep throw to each key when pressed despite the thin profile of the chassis.

Akku ibm fru 92p1082

no stabili.

SEOUL (Reuters) - South Korea's LG Electronics Inc said on Wednesday it will work with German carmaker Volkswagen AG (VOWG_p.DE) to jointly develop a connected car platform to enable vehicles to communicate with external devices. It also lacks the garish, F-22 fighter-jet styling of competing gaming notebooks from Asus and Alienware. Far from being a head-turner, it’s actually pretty dull – or minimalist, depending on your point of view. The dark grey plastic finish, chunky bezels and lack of any distinguishing features – aside from being relatively thin at 21mm – come across as drab and uninspiring.

The build quality leaves a lot to be desired, too. Put simply, it’s cheap, plasticky and doesn't offer the premium quality you’d expect of such an expensive laptop. There’s a gap between the bezel and the display, the body creaks and flexes, and in one model I tested, there was a distinct buzzing sound when using the headphone port. This was worse when connected to the power supply, suggesting it’s an electrical whine.

In terms of connectivity, the P35Xv5 has everything you need, including the latest USB Type-C port, 3 x USB 3, a full-size HDMI input, card reader, RJ-45 Ethernet, D-SUB, mini-DisplayPort, Kensington lock, mic in, headphones out and DC power port.Gigabyte hasn't made any significant changes to the body of its gaming notebooks for a few years now, and that’s evident in the fact that the smaller USB Type-C port is surrounded by a bright orange plastic filler in place of where an older standard USB port sat. Not exactly what we'd describe as an elegant solution.

LG, in a statement, said it and Volkswagen will work to jointly develop over "the next few years" technologies allowing drivers to control and monitor devices in their homes such as lights and security systems, as well as in-vehicle entertainment technologies and an alerting system for drivers providing "recommendations" based on real-time situations.

Automakers and technology companies have been forming partnerships in recent years, as the race to develop self-driving cars has created need for more sophisticated components and software that will allow vehicles to seamlessly communicate with various external devices and servers via the internet.LG Electronics, along with affiliates LG Display Co Ltd and LG Innotek Co Ltd, has identified the auto industry as a new growth driver and has been pushing to grow new businesses amid continued struggles for its mobile phones division.

LG and its sister companies last year clinched a deal to supply key components ranging from the battery cells and the electric motor for General Motors Co's 2017 Chevrolet Bolt electric car, burnishing their credentials. LG companies also supply products such as car audio systems and batteries to Volkswagen. In the statement on Wednesday, Thomas Form, Volkswagen's head of electronics and vehicle research, called LG a strong partner and said the pair will work to integrate smart home solutions into Volkswagen vehicles.

False. This simply isn't true -- not anymore, at least. Most smartphone, laptop, accessory and AA or AAA chargers are smart enough to momentarily stop charging once the device is fully charged. It does this long enough for the device to drain two or three percent, then it will climb back up to 100 percent.Leaving it plugged in like this every single night can have an impact on the lifespan of the battery, but the act of leaving it plugged in isn't as damaging as some people make it out to be.

Computer manufacturers often recommend you "exercise" your battery about every other month by letting it drain fully, then charging it back up. But that's about it.What you see as 0 percent or "dead" when your phone or laptop won't power on is the battery still sitting at somewhere around a 10 percent charge. This is why, when you hold the power button, the screen will turn on long enough to tell you to charge the battery. So what if you do follow this wrongheaded advice anyway? If you allow your battery-powered devices to go to "dead" each and every day, it will reduce the battery's effectiveness over time.In other words, top off more often to prolong the battery life of your electronics, and stop letting your phone or laptop die every day.

False. To be fair, it doesn't hurt anything to fully charge a device's battery before using it. It doesn't hurt anything if you skip this step, either. So why do manufacturers sometimes tell you to do it? Fully charging the battery before using a device is to kick-start what's known as a "calibration process," helping the device learn how that individual battery behaves. This is where I tell you that most batteries are self-calibrating, so it's still an unnecessary step.False. Storing a battery in the refrigerator or freezer is not only bad, but can be dangerous. Extreme temperatures - hot or cold and especially for long periods of time - are not good for any type of battery.

Remember, a battery is a collection of chemicals that store energy. Doing something that upsets those chemicals can have dangerous consequences. To maximize shelf life, Energizer suggests storing "batteries at normal room temperatures (68 degrees F to 78 degrees F or 20 degrees C to 25 degrees C) with moderate humidity levels (35 to 65 percent RH)." This should provide a shelf life of five to 10 years for your standard, cylindrical alkaline cells and 10 to 15 years for cylindrical lithium batteries.By the way, if you're wondering why your smartphone battery isn't performing as well after just a year or two, that's because the more you use a battery, the less efficient it becomes.

The US Consumer Product Safety Commission has issued a public recall announcement on behalf of Toshiba, which warns around 91,000 users in the US, an additional 10,000 users in Canada about an issue with their Toshiba laptop's battery.
According to the recall's details, the issue affects the lithium-ion batteries installed in Portege, Satellite, and Tecra laptop models. Panasonic is the manufacturer of the laptops' battery model.

All laptops sold in the US and Canada between June 2011 through January 2016, manufactured in China and Japan are affected. The laptops were sold mainly through Office Depot, Staples, Toshibadirect.com, but also from other electronic stores or online websites.Affected batteries may overheat and melt
Toshiba says that the laptop batteries may overheat and even melt, with the potential to hurt their owners. Four such cases have been reported so far.Microsoft is hoping to counteract the amount of battery life consumed by these extra features with even more power-saving enhancements, like more efficient processor management and controls on background activity.

It's not the first time that Google Chrome has been singled out as as a browser that guzzles power. While it may be the world's most popular browser, it is notoriously tough on laptop batteries - especially MacBooks.Google has previously said it is working on solving this problem, but these latest tests show that no substantial improvements have been made yet. That's what some experts are saying, with Microsoft chiefs warning the internet browser could be eating up the amount of time you can spend on your device without it being plugged in.The tech giant ran a series of tests, with the experiment seeing the rival of Google stream the same video on four laptops.

The devices were all identical - and unplugged - with the only difference between them being the browser the video was being played on.Microsoft pitted Google Chrome against Opera, Microsoft Edge and Mozilla Firefax in its testing laboratory, and the result ranks the former as the worst performer.Dave Thompson/PA WireLaptop. Keyboard. Computer. Broadband. Internet. Fibre optic. Google Chrome emerged bottom of the pack in the test, with the laptop's battery only lasting 4 hours and 19 minutes.Mozilla Firefox saw the laptop's battery drained in 5 hours and 9 minutes, making it second worst.Opera took the silver medal, clocking up a more impressive time of 6 hours and 18 minutes. This will come as no surprise to tech savvy consumers, though, with Opera boasting a specific power saving mode and the ability to reduce background activity.

The system does this by pausing unused plug-ins and hidden animations while a laptop isn't charging.Microsoft Edge emerged victorious, managing to stream the video for a total of 7 hours and 22 minutes - an eye-popping 70 per cent longer than Google Chrome.Of course Asus has bundled other softwares too like Steam application, ROG Gaming Centre, Asus Web Storage, WPS Office and more. AudioWizard for customizing sound profiles, McAfee LiveSafe, Microsoft Office 365 (1-month trial pack), and Dropbox are also present.

Accu ASUS N53JF-SX094V

Toshiba Satellite L600-15S Battery

Your viewing angles are unlimited between zero and 135°, like a laptop. Whichever way you put the Slim Book together, you can place it the angle of your choice. ZAGG claims the battery lasts up to two years with normal usage. I didn’t test it out for two years, but in the three weeks I tested it out daily, I never charged it nor ran out of power. The keyboard is backlit. You can adjust the backlight through three different brightness levels and seven different colors.

Bryan and I both liked using the Slim Book. I found it so laptop-like that my fingers kept trying to locate the trackpad. I had to keep reminding myself that I was using an iPad and could touch the screen. The keyboard looks so much like my Macbook’s keyboard, and functionality is much the same. While I found myself primarily using the case and keyboard attached in the traditional laptop mode, I like having the option to pull them apart and use the iPad handheld in its case. It’s also nice to be able to put the iPad in "backwards” for video-watching or even folding it flat backwards for reading a book. The keyboard has two small tabs which fit into the matching holes in the case.

I am notoriously klutzy, and I dropped my iPad while in the Slim Book once or twice. While the case did come detached from the keyboard, both the Slim Book and the iPad came out unscathed.Bryan added, "The 12.9-inch iPad Pro is expensive, and it’s important to protect this investment with a cover. Though Apple’s Smart Keyboard works beautifully, its casing is flimsy, at best. The ZAGG case is durable, and I love the keyboard.”

The original Samsung Galaxy Note was still over a year away when Dell launched the Streak 5 in 2010. There had been other large form factor phones before — blurring the lines between tablet and smartphone — but the Dell Streak was the first Android phablet. It had a 5-inch, touchscreen display with 800 x 480-pixel resolution, decent battery life, and a 5-megapixel camera.
A lot of the initial reviews were actually pretty positive, with many reviewers seeing the attraction of a bigger screen on a phone, but the Streak suffered from some serious performance issues. It ran Android 1.6 Donut, later upgraded to 2.2 Froyo. The immature version of Android was less than ideal for a screen this size, and Dell’s failure to build good software customizations on top essentially killed its chances of taking off.
Motorola Atrix

5 phones ahead of their time
Starting 2011 in determined fashion, Motorola was churning out innovative new Android smartphones like no other manufacturer on the market. However, looking at the lineup — which also saw the Xoom, Droid Bionic, and Cliq 2 released alongside the Atrix 4G — you get the impression it was throwing everything at the wall and hoping something would stick.
The Motorola Atrix 4G had an attractive design with a 4-inch, 960 x 540-pixel display. It also had plenty of raw power under the hood, but it was the fingerprint sensor and the innovative WebTop platform that really stood out. There were four different dock accessories, allowing you to convert the Atrix into the brains of a laptop, hook it up via HDMI with an IR remote control, or use it to navigate in a vehicle.
With the high price of docks and less than perfect performance, the Atrix never hit the big time, but it was certainly influential. Fingerprint sensors are now ubiquitous and Microsoft is still trying to nail the PC/phone crossover with Continuum. Read our full review.

The Symbian-based Nokia 808 PureView was unveiled at MWC in February 2012. With a 41-megapixel camera, it took mobile photography to previously unscaled heights. It was also the first smartphone to feature Nokia’s pixel oversampling technique for better image quality, improved low-light performance, and lossless zoom. It also benefited from Nokia’s long-term partnership with Carl Zeiss optics.
Sadly, this amazing camera disappeared quite quickly because it was tied to the sinking Symbian platform. Nokia tried again with its successor in 2013, the Lumia 1020, but Windows Phone turned out to be sinking as well. Despite many plaudits, the 41-megapixel shooter proved to be a leap too far and today’s smartphones still haven’t caught up. Read our Lumia 1020 review.
It’s too early to call, but if we had to pick the next phone that may be ahead of its time, we’d probably opt for the LG G5. The modular design seems set to take off at some point, but we’re not sure it will be 2016.
If You are here then, either you can't connect your Xbox One Controller to your Console or your Controller doesn't maintain a connection with it. It's time to fix the issue once and for all, this guide will show you how to maintain the connection between your Console and the Wireless Controller along with few Tips on how to keep your Xbox One Console Up to date.

There are tons of rumors about a new MacBook Pro headed to stores sometime this fall. The laptop is rumored to have OLED keycaps (replacing the function keys), numerous USB-C ports and a thinner, more tapered design that looks a bit more like the MacBook. But what of the MacBook Air, Apple’s longstanding entry-level notebook? The MacBook Air hasn’t had a major upgrade since early 2015 (the RAM was upgraded to 8GB across models in early 2016) and its still sporting the same physical design dating back to 2010.

Last month, there was a rumor of a minor MacBook Air refresh, but that didn’t end up panning out. Moreover, since the introduction of the MacBook last year – plenty of pundits have predicted that the MacBook Air will probably never get a major refresh again. Now, this doesn’t mean that the MacBook Air is going away. It’s still a great laptop – and a total workhorse – but if you look at Apple’s product line, the MacBook now occupies the place the MacBook Air once took (the most portable, lightest, thinnest notebook) and the MacBook Pro has become thinner over time in a way that sort of obviates the need for a laptop that is simply "thin.”

Apple has a history of keeping old products for sale for years after they last received hardware updates. In fact, it was just last month that the non-retina unibody MacBook Pro 13-inch finally left store shelves. That product hadn’t had a hardware update since mid–2012.So it stands to reason that as long as the MacBook Air still sells, Apple will continue to offer it. Who knows, maybe the company will even consider lowering the price. Now, the age of the components (no Skylake for you!) might turn some budget-conscious buyers away, but anyone who has used a 2015 MacBook Air can attest to the fact that it is a very good machine. I frequently use a 2014 MacBook Air and rarely run into performance bottle necks. And I say that as someone whose daily driver tends to be a 15-inch MacBook Pro.

Plus, until the price of the MacBook comes down – the MacBook Air really is a solid entry-level Mac. It doesn’t have the retina display of its peers but it's a good performer with terrific battery life and super-fast SSD storage. Plus it has tons of ports (USB 3.0, Thunderbolt 2, SD card slots). When I reviewed the redesigned MacBook back in 2015 (and the updated version in 2016), I commented that it represented the future of computing.

In fact, I said that I expected every laptop in the next five years to resemble the MacBook – the same way the MacBook Air continues to influence laptop designs today. But given the price point of the MacBook (it starts at $1299) and its single USB-C port, I don’t think that product is quite ready to replace the MacBook Air. The MacBook is a great secondary computer for business users – and I think it’s a great choice for many students – but for the money, the MacBook Pro is a better value.

The new MacBook Air is the iPad Pro
Interestingly, the new successor to the MacBook Air might just be the iPad Pro.After all – that is the device Apple CEO Tim Cook seems to be targeting against the Chromebook. And although a fully-outfitted 12.9-inch iPad Pro with keyboard and Apple Pencil will actually cost more than a MacBook Air, the iPad Pro is an interesting take on the future of computing.Plenty of apps on the iPad are remarkably full featured and the time when you couldn’t do real work on an iPad has long since passed. Plenty of professionals use the iPad Pro as their primary machine.

We still need an entry-level Apple device, and that’s long been the MacBook Air. But if the MacBook Air isn’t going to get a significant update, the iPad Pro might be better for lots of users. While I fully expect to see a fully-refreshed MacBook Pro this fall, I don’t think we’ll be seeing a major MacBook Air update again.SEOUL (Reuters) - South Korea's LG Electronics Inc said on Wednesday it will work with German carmaker Volkswagen AG to jointly develop a connected car platform to enable vehicles to communicate with external devices.

LG, in a statement, said it and Volkswagen will work to jointly develop over "the next few years" technologies allowing drivers to control and monitor devices in their homes such as lights and security systems, as well as in-vehicle entertainment technologies and an alerting system for drivers providing "recommendations" based on real-time situations.Automakers and technology companies have been forming partnerships in recent years, as the race to develop self-driving cars has created need for more sophisticated components and software that will allow vehicles to seamlessly communicate with various external devices and servers via the internet.

LG Electronics, along with affiliates LG Display Co Ltd and LG Innotek Co Ltd, has identified the auto industry as a new growth driver and has been pushing to grow new businesses amid continued struggles for its mobile phones division.LG and its sister companies last year clinched a deal to supply key components ranging from the battery cells and the electric motor for General Motors Co's 2017 Chevrolet Bolt electric car, burnishing their credentials.

Portability or performance – this is the compromise we usually have to make when buying a gaming notebook. Traditionally, such machines are big and bulky behemoths that stretch the meaning of portable about as far as it can go.Not the Gigabyte P35Xv5, however. This capable gaming machine, featuring Intel’s latest Skylake processor with a choice of Nvidia 970M or 980M graphics card, is one of the thinnest and lightest gaming notebooks on the market.Let’s start with the good news. Weighing 2.4kg, the 15.6-inch Gigabyte P35Xv5 is only 350g heavier than the 15.4-inch MacBook Pro and close to half the weight of the competing Asus ROG G752. It isn't exactly featherweight though – you’ll definitely still notice it if you carry it around in your backpack – but for a gaming notebook it’s impressively light.

Also die Platine in solchen Alkohol tunken.

Dolby-Optimierung hin oder her.

Dell XPS M1530 Battery

While the processor itself has integrated graphics buried inside, HP hasn't shied away from adding a pretty impressive dedicated mobile graphics card. The Radeon 7450M within has just 1GB of video memory but can work with CrossFire mode with the onboard GPU to create a surprisingly powerful mobile gaming combination. In our Dirt 3 test for instance, the G6 managed a relatively smooth 38.1fps, which while quite an old game now, was relatively surprising. Obviosuly, don't expect the G6 to run anything new at a decent framerate though, it's best to be used to run your old game collection.

HP Pavilion G6
Initially, we did expect its battery life to suffer a bit, especially considering its processor and graphics card, but the G6 coped surprisingly well, almost hitting six hours away from the mains. You’ll need to stick to light tasks, such as image editing, but unlike other quad-core laptops we’ve seen, there’s still potential for working on the move. Obviously, this isn't the highest scoring battery test we've completed, but it should suffice for laptop use on the go.

During our lengthy time with it, we quickly noticed that image quality was actually surprisingly good for a budget laptop. There was ample amount of brightness and colours were reasonably vivid, although viewing angles were fairly basic. It has a limited amount of screen tilt and a glossy finish, so we noticed light reflections a lot more on the G6 than on competing laptops.

The keyboard isn’t exactly the prettiest out there, but it does the job well. The flat keys are grouped tightly together, but because they’re full size, it didn't feel all that cramped when typing. Of course, in typical HP fashion, the function keys have been repurposed as multimedia shortcuts, but this can be disabled if you'd like.

We didn't have any any qualms when using the touchpad, even if it is a bit smaller than we’d have liked. It’s nice and sensitive enough to quickly navigate the desktop, with its raised surface making it fairly easy to find using your sense of touch alone if you’re working in the dark. Also quite handily, a double-tap to the small recessed corner disables the touchpad should you prefer to use a mouse, although this can sometimes be miss-pressed on occasion. The buttons directly below it push in rather far before they register a click, but at least they make an audible noise so you can tell when you’ve pressed them in far enough.

Unsurprisingly, there aren't any USB3 ports to be found here, but otherwise the G6’s connectivity is reasonable. Three standard USB ports, a multiformat card reader and a DVD optical drive are of note, but there’s also audio input and output jacks and an Ethernet port, as well as HDMI and VGA video outputs too.

Compared to the much more stylish HP Pavilion DV6, the G6 is something of an ugly duckling, albeit one with significantly more powerful components inside. However, when it comes to real-world tests, there isn’t very much separating the two. If you have multi-threaded applications that can make the most of its quad-core processor then the G6 may perform better, but the cheaper DV6 seems a better buy overall. If you can still find one to pick up, it's definitely worth a shot, especially considering its cheap price. Still undecided? Check out our Best Laptop 2016 buying guide to help you choose which laptop is best for you.

Materials researchers have developed a very simple and cost-effective procedure for significantly enhancing the performance of conventional Li-ion rechargeable batteries. The procedure is scalable in size, so the use of rechargeable batteries will be optimized in all areas of application-whether in wristwatches, smartphones, laptops or cars, explain scientists. Battery storage capacity will be significantly extended, and charging times reduced, they say.
Materials researchers at the Swiss Paul Scherrer Institute PSI in Villigen and the ETH Zurich have developed a very simple and cost-effective procedure for significantly enhancing the performance of conventional Li-ion rechargeable batteries. The procedure is scalable in size, so the use of rechargeable batteries will be optimized in all areas of application-whether in wristwatches, smartphones, laptops or cars. Battery storage capacity will be significantly extended, and charging times reduced. The researchers reported on their results in the latest issue of the research journal Nature Energy.

It's not necessary to re-invent the rechargeable battery in order to improve its performance. As Claire Villevieille, head of the battery materials research group at the Paul Scherrer Institute PSI says: "In the context of this competitive field, most researchers concentrate on the development of new materials." In cooperation with colleagues at the ETH in Zurich, Villevieille and co-researcher Juliette Billaud took a different approach: "We checked existing components with a view to fully exploiting their potential." Simply by optimizing the graphite anode -- or negative electrode -- on a conventional Li-ion battery, researchers were able to boost battery performance. "Under laboratory conditions, we were able to enhance storage capacity by a factor of up to 3. Owing to their complex construction, commercial batteries will not be able to fully replicate these results. But performance will definitely be enhanced, perhaps by as much as 30 -- 50 percent: further experiments should yield more accurate prognoses."

Researchers point out that in terms of industrial implementation, improving existing components has the great advantage of requiring less developmental input than a new battery design using new materials. As Villevieille says: "We already have everything we need. If a manufacturer were willing to take on production, enhanced batteries could be ready for the market within one or two years." The procedure is simple, cost-effective and scalable for use on rechargeable batteries in all areas of application, from wristwatch to smartphone, from laptop to car. And it has the additional bonus of being transferable to other anode-cathode batteries such as those based on sodium.

In this case, changing the way anodes work was the key to success. Anodes are made from graphite, i.e. carbon, arranged in tiny, densely packed flakes, comparable in appearance to dark grey cornflakes haphazardly compressed, as in a granola bar. When a Li-ion battery is charging, lithium ions pass from the cathode, or positive metal oxide electrode, through an electrolyte fluid to the anode, where they are stored in the graphite bar. When the battery is in use and thus discharging, the lithium ions pass back to the cathode but are forced to take many detours through the densely packed mass of graphite flakes, compromising battery performance.

These detours are largely avoidable if the flakes are arranged vertically during the anode production process so that they are massed parallel to one another, pointing from the electrode plane in the direction of the cathode. Adapting a method already used in the production of synthetic composite materials, this alignment was achieved by André Studart and a team of research experts in the field of material nanostructuration at the ETH Zurich. The method involves coating the graphite flakes with nanoparticles of iron oxide sensitive to a magnetic field and suspending them in ethanol. The suspended and already magnetized flakes are subsequently subjected to a magnetic field of 100 millitesla-about the strength of a fridge magnet. André Studart explains that "by rotating the magnet during this process, the platelets not only align vertically but in parallel formation to one another, like books on a shelf. As a result, they are perfectly ordered, reducing the diffusion distances covered by the lithium ions to a minimum."

Microscopic images show that if the magnet remains turned on during the ensuing drying process, the platelets keep their new orientation even when removed from the ethanol suspension. Instead of their formerly haphazard arrangement, the flakes in the compressed graphite bar are now parallel, enabling the lithium ions to flow much more easily and quickly, whilst also increasing storage capacity by allowing more ions to dock during the charging process. Claire Villevieille emphasizes that the "chemical composition of batteries remains the same." The remaining iron oxide nanoparticles are negligible in quantity and do not influence battery function. "All we did was optimise the anode structure."

ZAGG’s Bluetooth-enabled Slim Book, the Ultra-Slim Tablet Keyboard & Detachable Case is a product worth checking out. I received one in the 9.7-inch iPad Pro size for hands-on review, and my colleague Bryan Wolfe received the 12.9-inch iPad Pro version. The Slim Book consists of two separate pieces. One piece is a basic case, a shell that fits snugly onto the iPad. It’s specially designed to fit perfectly with the other piece, the Bluetooth keyboard. The case slides securely into the keyboard two ways: facing the keyboard, so you can use it like a laptop, or facing away from the keyboard, so you can use the keyboard as a stable base when watching videos.

Dell Vostro 1015 Battery

The Aero 14 features a 14-inch display, hence the name. This is complemented by the Aero 14 keyboard, something that is ‘highly customizable’ according to the company, including Marco keys and Macro Hub software. The laptop’s design itself includes Nano-Imprint Lithography which, says Gigabyte, lends a 3D look and feel without compromising the nature of its full-aluminum chassis.

In total, the laptop weighs 1.89kg and measures 335 x 250 x 19.9mm in size. There’s a 94.24Wh battery for long run times, and under the hood lies an Intel i7 Skylake 2.0GHz processor. Because there’s HDMI 2.0, users are also able to expand the display to a true 4K-resolution external monitor. The laptop is available now for $1599 USD, though some places, like Newegg, are already showing the model sold out.

The HP Pavilion G6 isn’t exactly the most glamorous laptop of the bunch. The basic and somewhat dreary grey plastic chassis isn't exactly inspiring, but there are some pretty decent components housed within such as a relatively speedy quad-core processor and a dedicated graphics card too.First on offer here is the quad-core AMD Llano A8-3520 CPU, running at a 1.6GHz clock speed, which can be turbo boosted and increased to 2.5GHz for added performance in single-threaded applications. Pair this with the 6GB of RAM too, meant it completed our multimedia benchmarks with an overall score of 40. Obviously, this isn't exactly record-breaking, it’s still plenty fast enough for your typical application and general web browsing too. If you plan on using more performance hogging multi-threaded applications, such as Adobe Photoshop, you should notice a significant boost over a dual-core processor when using the HP Pavilion G6.

The ZAGG case is durable, and I love the keyboard.”FullSizeRender-1 FullSizeRender-2 FullSizeRender-3 FullSizeRender-4 FullSizeRender IMG_3811 IMG_3812 IMG_3813 IMG_3814 IMG_3817 IMG_3819 IMG_3820 IMG_3823 IMG_3824 IMG_3825 IMG_3827 IMG_3828 IMG_3829
It would be nice if you could insert the iPad into the keyboard vertically as well as horizontally, but that’s a minor quibble. I’d like to see use of the Smart Connector rather than relying on Bluetooth, but I believe that’s up to Apple to decide who is allowed to use that technology. I’d also like to see this offered in other colors besides black. The only disadvantage Bryan saw was the bulk: "Yes, it adds some weight, but it seems worth it.” I also noticed the extra weight it adds, but I think it’s fair given how much added protection you get.

sostanze infiammabili liquide/solide compreso alcool superiore a 70 gradi
sostanze magnetizzanti

Asus G74SX Battery

In this case, that includes a Microsoft Office trial, McAfee LiveSafe security software, and a few Acer utilities including photo and video apps, the Acer Hover Access utility for use with the Active Pen, a Recovery Management utility, and an Acer Quick Access tool that allows you to toggle an adaptive screen brightness setting or enable a "Bluelight Shield” setting that minimizes the amount of blue light coming from the screen, which may help prevent you from having problems falling asleep after using the tablet at night.

Acer promised us a tablet with laptop-class performance and a fanless design… and the company delivered on that promise.I’ve spent the last two weeks testing the Acer Switch Alpha 12, and I really did find myself using it as a notebook replacement for most of that time. Occasionally I picked it up to read an article or eBook or to test the pen input. Sometime I reached up from the keyboard to touch the screen. But for the most part I used it for work. For me that means keeping multiple browser windows and tabs open all day while editing images, updating spreadsheets, listening to music, and watching videos, among other things).

Even though I didn’t use the tablet mode very often, it’s nice to know that I could pick up the tablet at any time and hold it in my hands while reading, watching videos, or playing casual games. It’s not a feature I’d typically pay much extra money for, but in this case you don’t really have to: the Switch Alpha 12 is priced pretty competitively with non-convertible notebooks. Is the Switch Alpha 12 perfect? Not quite. Battery life is nothing to write home about. There are only two USB ports, including one USB Type-C connector. And the decision to use a keyboard cover and kickstand means that it’s tough to use this "laptop” on your lap.

But Acer is the first company to offer a 2 pound, fanless tablet with support for up to a Core i7 processor, and the PC maker still charges significantly less for its 2-in-1 tablet than Microsoft charges for a Surface Pro 4.The model I tested sells for $799. You’d have to pay about $1430 to get a Surface Pro 4 and Type Cover with the same processor, memory, and storage options.Looking to save even more money? An entry-level Acer Switch Alpha 12 offers a Core i3 Skylake processor, 4GB of RAM and 128GB of storage for $599. That’s the same price you’d pay for a Microsoft Surface 3 tablet with a much less powerful Intel Atom x7 Cherry Trail processor.

Everyone knows that Samsung is specialized in making great Android smartphones and tablets, but only a few people had courage to buy its Desktop PCs and laptops or the 2-in-1 TabPro S, preferring other brands. But Samsung is not discouraged and continues to make awesome gadgets. The new Notebook 7 spin convertible Windows 10 computer will surely become a must have, because it will have an affordable price of $799.99.

Over nearly a decade, Ascension Parish purchased computers for every student in grades six to 12; it later added fifth grade. The most devices it’s ever bought at any one time is about 3,000, Ragusa said.East Baton Rouge school officials have said little-to-nothing publicly until now about its Chromebook initiative.Deputy Superintendent Michelle Clayton said school officials have been mulling a districtwide one-to-one laptop purchase for a while. In a district where a vast majority of students come from poor backgrounds, schools need to help level the technological playing field if students hope to do well in college and succeed in careers, she said.

"You want to make sure you have those state-of-the art 21st century learning environments for the students,” Clayton said. She said she’s been planning to do a presentation soon to the School Board but was first finalizing how to train teachers on the new laptops.Superintendent Warren Drake selected Richard Ellis as the school system’s technology director in July 2015, Clayton said, in part because in his previous job as director of technology in Iberville Parish, Ellis presided over that school system’s one-to-one laptop program. The decision to pull the trigger came after the state Department of Education released in late March an updated standardized testing schedule for the 2016-17 school year, Clayton said.

The state made clear that all students in grades five to eight will have to take tests on computers next spring, while those in third and fourth grade can still take them using pencil and paper.Getting them ready for online tests involves making sure they are familiar with the process.Last fall, her staff, during visits to elementary classrooms, visited found that a quarter of teachers weren’t using technology at all.

Clayton said the $3.5 million to purchase the Chromebooks is coming from unspent technology funds in several 2015-16 budgets.Ellis said the laptops are being purchased through a cooperative organized by Bossier Parish public schools, which handled the legal purchasing requirement. East Baton Rouge signed on with Bossier last fall, but Ellis said he did not submit his first large order of laptops until May 25.Ellis said he likes Chromebooks for several reasons: They are relatively inexpensive; they have a battery life of upwards of 10 hours; and they rely on free cloud storage, meaning there is little saved on the actual devices and are consequently easier to maintain.

While cost is a factor, it was not the only factor, he said."An inexpensive device is only good if it does the job,” Ellis said. The school system also is purchasing 427 charging carts for the laptops at a cost of $1,330 apiece. Each cart holds up to 30 laptops, enough for the average middle school classroom. Ellis said he’s hiring seven more computer technicians to handle the additional repair load.Through the years, Ascension Parish has tried a variety of mobile computers, starting with Apple Macbooks, then iPads, then Dell Notebooks and now Chromebooks.Ragusa said he rolled out the Chromebooks last year in fifth grade at Central Middle. The other middle schools quickly demanded their own, he said, and this year they’ll have them."Had I not moved them to other middle schools this year, I would have caught major grief,” he said. One "rookie mistake,” though, was at first buying traditional laptops like the ones East Baton Rouge is buying, instead of spending a little more for laptops with touch screens. Ragusa said he’s buying only touch screens from now on.

"The teachers and students were much happier with the touch screens,” Ragusa said.Clayton said all teachers who teach core subjects will have to complete training this summer before they can use the Chromebooks. And students undergo some initial training as well.Still undecided is whether East Baton Rouge will follow the lead of some districts and charge a student fee. While students and parents are likely to sign some kind of usage contract, Clayton said she’s leaning against requiring a fee.Ascension requires all students pay a $20 "damage protection” fee to help pay for repairs, though it does not cover theft of computers.West Feliciana Parish schools used to require a similar fee of about $40 but dropped it when it moved to Chromebooks. Superintendent Hollis Milton said that was partly because the district also decided to quit letting students bring the laptops home, making repairs bills less expensive.

Milton suggested school districts that buy laptops for every student think through how to make the best use of them. For instance, students can be easily distracted if teachers aren’t clear about the point of a lesson where computers are employed.Lithium-ion batteries are part of items that we use every day and we hardly think about them, but they can cause explosions and fires if they’re prone to overheating. That’s the case for batteries that are part of laptop computers sold in the last few years by HP and by Sony, and now those batteries have been recalled. Both HP and Sony recommend powering down your computer and removing the battery if you have an affected model. Run the computer on A/C power, and contact the company for a replacement that should be less prone to overheating.

The HP recall includes batteries sold between March 2013 and August 2015, and that work with the HP ProBook, HP ENVY, Compaq Presario, and HP Pavilion. They may have come with the computer or been purchased separately for a backup battery. The CPSC has the specific battery barcodes that you should look for if you have an HP or Compaq laptop. If you have an affected model, go to HP’s recall site or contact the company at 888-202-4320.

Sony also announced a much smaller recall last week, but we thought we’d mention it as long as we’re talking about laptop batteries. The risk of overheating and fire is similar, and these batteries also came from Panasonic. There haven’t been any reported fires or injuries, though, since there are significantly fewer of these batteries out there. The Sony batteries were for sale from February 2013 through October 2013, and customers could have received them as part of their computer, from a repair by Sony, or purchased separately for a backup battery. The CPSC has the list of affected Vaio models, and you should contact the company at 888-476-6988 for a replacement battery if you have one of them.

If you're considering buying a new MacBook you'll have realised that the decision between Apple's laptops is not as easy as it first seems. Here, we help you decide which MacBook is best for you in our best MacBook 2016 buying guide. There are three different models of MacBook laptops in Apple's line-up: MacBook Air, MacBook Pro (which is primarily advertised with a Retina display, but also comes in a non-Retina version), and the 12in Retina MacBook. Two of these lines have recently been updated:the 12-inch MacBook and (very slightly) the Air. We're still waiting for the MacBook Pro to be refreshed.

Further complicating matters, each of those MacBooks is available in different sizes and configurations, with various build-to-order options. It's not surprising, then, that many people have difficulty deciding between them. In this article we're helping you make that decision by examining the options and providing expert advice about which MacBook is best for you.

shouldHow do you keep your laptop battery going for as long as possible? Laptop Battery life is one of the most important aspects people look at when buying laptop computers. There are a few ways to extend the battery life of your laptop.Sometimes your laptop will just shut itself down and get a black screen, and it’s really unexpected. A lot of times this is caused by your laptop overheating. If you feel your battery becoming very warm or overheating, the battery should be removed from the laptop and allowed to cool to room temperature before attempting to use again.

Here’re simple ways to improve laptop battery life time.1. SHUT OFF the WIFI if you don’t need it. Usually, there is a switch, but sometimes you have to do it in the WIFI config. Turn off that radio (which you should be doing on airplanes anyway). That WIFI radio transmitter uses a good bit of power. It uses even more when you’re NOT connected since it’s "seeking” your home connection and often ramps up the power to try to find it. Think of how fast your cell phone drains when you have poor coverage.2. Lower the graphics use. You can do this be changing the screen resolution and shutting off fancy graphic drivers. Graphics cards (video cards) use as much or more power today as hard disks.

Papatek.com offers a complete and comprehensive product line of high quality and brand laptop batteries replacement for compaq , hp ,dell , acer ,sony ,ibm ,toshiba, etc. Our laptop batteries are designed to be fully compatible with the original equipment.Tesla enjoys a reputation out of proportion with its 0.15% share of the US market. And Chairman Musk now says production will jump from 50,000 units in 2015 to 500,000 in 2018. This projected tenfold jump invites doubt, or worse. But a strong reaction (400,000 pre-orders) to the just-announced $35,000 Model 3 shows hope for the company to make electric cars more mainstream.
