Veremos.Parece una nave de 'Star Wars' con la forma de una letra ‘H’ pero no levanta el vuelo ni surca el espacio, sino que permanece en tierra ayudando a mejorar la calidad de vida de quienes habitan en las regiones más remotas y menos desarrolladas del planeta, sin infraestructuras ni servicios modernos, o en zonas de países desarrollados donde abunda el sol pero escasea el agua.
Este sistema llamado Watly es definido por sus creadores como "la primera computadora alimentada por energía solar, que purifica el agua de cualquier tipo de contaminación, genera corriente eléctrica fuera de la red convencional y permite conectarse a Internet desde cualquier parte”.

Después de construir y ensayar el primer modelo (1.0) en 2013, los desarrolladores de Watly fabricaron un segundo prototipo de esta máquina, el 2.0, que tiene el tamaño de un coche pequeño y ha sido probado con éxito en 2014 en la pequeña aldea de Abenta, en Ghana (Africa) , proporcionado agua potable, electricidad y conexión 3G (voz y datos) a unas 750 personas.
Ahora sus desarrolladores están recaudando financiación para construir y poner en marcha la tercera versión este sistema, la 3.0, de un tamaño similar al de cuatro autobuses urbanos, destinado a dar servicio a 3.000 personas, con capacidad para entregar unos 5.000 litros de agua diarios durante 15 años de vida útil y que se prevé que se instalará en África en el 2016.

Attisani y con sede en Barcelona (España).
El modelo Watly 3.0, cuyas localizaciones previstas son Ghana, Nigeria o Sudán, es solo otro paso dentro del objetivo global del proyecto: transformar las vidas de millones de personas que todavía carecen de electricidad y de acceso a internet, lo que les permitirá acceder a esta fuente de educación y entretenimiento, según los creadores de esta máquina ‘3 en 1’.
Este sistema utiliza la energía térmica (calor de los rayos solares) y la electricidad fotovoltaica (generada a partir de la luz del sol) para producir vapor y poner en marcha un proceso que potabiliza el agua, denominado de ‘destilación por compresión de vapor’, de acuerdo a los autores de este proyecto.

Y nos decantaríamos por imaginar que su precio sería también monstruoso, pero lo cierto es que no. Son 899 dólares que no están nada mal teniendo en cuenta las circunstancias. En el interior tenemos procesador Intel Core i5, RAM de 12GB y sistema operativo Windows 10 Home de 64 bits. La tarjeta gráfica es una Nvidia GeForce 940MX con RAM de 2GB dedicada GDDR5 y el almacenamiento es de 1TB. A esto le tendremos que añadir todos los accesorios y extras que son habituales en los portátiles de Dell y que estaréis aburridos de leer en otras noticias, desde conexión USB Type-C hasta teclado numérico, puerto para teclado clásico, etc, etc.

La batería, con un monstruo de estas dimensiones, tenía que ser eficiente, y lo que nos garantiza Dell son unas 10 horas como máximo. Todo depende de cómo lo utilicemos y de qué hagamos con él según dicen desde la empresa fabricante. Eso ya sabéis que se puede traducir como "10 horas de batería las tendréis cuando consigáis que los planetas estén alineados y el señor Walt Disney sea descongelado para volver a dirigir su empresa”. Así que no digamos nada específico, pero 10 horas dudamos mucho que vayáis a rozar de forma habitual. Aún con todo, es bonito. Nosotros le hubiéramos llamado Dell Frankenstein.

Motorola tuvo un gran éxito en el ámbito de los teléfonos móviles a principios de los años 2.000, vendiendo miles de copias a nivel mundial de algunos de sus dispositivos más populares como el mítico V3. Sin embargo la llegada de los smartphones dejó a la marca un poco en el olvido durante unos cuantos años, hasta que apareció Lenovo y "resucitó” la marca.El Motorola Moto X es ahora uno de los buques insignia de la marca bajo la dirección de Lenovo, pero también dispone de otros modelos muy populares entre el gran público como el Motorola Moto G4 y el Moto G4 Plus.

HTC por su parte es una compañía taiwanesa que comenzó su actividad a finales de los años ’90 del siglo pasado fabricando ordenadores portátiles. En 2006 decidió dar el salto al mundo de los teléfonos móviles usando el sistema operativo Windows Mobile. En 2009 comenzó a lanzar al mercado terminales con sistema operativo Android y desde entonces su popularidad no ha dejado de crecer.Los terminales Motorola son algunos de los que más han crecido en ventas en los últimos tiempos, al punto de que de hecho su buque insignia, el Moto G se ha asentado como uno de los gama baja/media más vendidos recientemente. Y claro, entre los muchos motivos que los usuarios encontraron para quedarse con estos equipos, las rápidas actualizaciones a las versiones más recientes de Android fue uno de ellos, al punto de que en este caso vamos a detenernos en hablar de lo que es la llegada de Android 6.0 Marshmallow al Motorola Moto X Pure Edition, uno de sus más avanzados equipos.

Lo cierto es que a lo largo de los últimos días, Motorola publicó un listado de todos sus terminales los cuales estarían siendo actualizados a Android 6,0 Marshmallow, y no podemos perder de vista al respecto que se incluían los principales lanzados en los últimos dos años. No solo eso, sino que además a los listados originales se le agregaban otros de los que no se había hablado antes, en los casos concretos del Motorola Moto X Pure Edition, como así también del Moto E 4G 2015 de segunda generación.

Y si tenemos en cuenta además la palabra de David Schuster, Senior Director de producto de Motorola, el Motorola Moto X Pure Edition en los Estados Unidos será de los primeros equipos en recibir las nuevas versiones de Android. De hecho, ya han llegado a acuerdos con compañías operadoras y comercializadoras como Verizon, Sprint o US Cellular, que liberarán Android 6.0 Marshmallow para el Motorola Moto X Pure Edition desde las primeras semanas del año que viene, lo mismo que ha sido anunciado también en Brasil.

Pero claro que el Motorola Moto X Pure Edition no será el único equipo de Motorola que recibirá Android 6.0 Marshmallow en breve, ya que no podemos dejar de destacar lo que sucede con otros como por ejemplo los Moto G (2015), Moto X (2014), Moto G (2014), Moto E (2014), Droid Turbo 2, Droid Turbo (2014), Droid Maxx 2, Droid Maxx 2 (2014), Moto X Force y Nexus 6, que como sabemos por otra parte, al estar auspiciado directamente por Google, podría llegar a tener una ligera ventaja al respecto.

Am wohlsten fühlt sich der Lithium-Ionen-Akku bei Raumtemperatur – also ungefähr bei 20 Grad. Denn wird es wärmer als rund 35 Grad Celsius, laufen im Inneren des Akkus elektrochemische Reaktionen ab, die seine Kapazität deutlich senken. Die Batterie entlädt sich dadurch schneller. Warme Heizkörper eignen sich daher ebenso wenig als Ablage für Notebooks und Tablets, wie enge Hosentaschen für Smartphones.
Laptops gehören deshalb auch nicht direkt auf den Schoß oder auf weiche Kissen, sondern auf eine ebene Unterlage. Nur dann gelangt von unten kühlende Luft an die Bauteile, vor allem an den Akku. Aufpassen sollte man zudem im Sommer: "Erhöht sich die Umgebungstemperatur dauerhaft, sinkt die Lebensdauer des Akkus", sagt Stephan Scheuer, Batterieexperte bei TÜV Rheinland. Daher sollten Sie darauf achten, mobile Geräte nicht in der Sonne oder an anderen warmen Orten liegen zu lassen.
Aber auch extreme Kälte mag der Akku nicht: Temperaturen unter dem Gefrierpunkt können die Lithium-Ionen-Akkus schädigen und ihr Innenleben destabilisieren. Bewahren sie deshalb Geräte mit solchen Akkus im Winter nicht über Nacht im Freien oder Fahrzeug auf. Das Handy ist bei einem Winterspaziergang am besten in der warmen Innentasche des Anoraks aufgehoben.
Nicht zu leer werden lassen

Früher gab es bei Akkus den gefürchteten Memory-Effekt. Deshalb wurde empfohlen, die Batterien immer möglichst leer werden zu lassen, bevor man sie an die Ladestation hängt. Aber diese Zeiten sind vorbei: Die gängigen Lithium-Ionen-Akkus stecken viele Ladezyklen ohne großen Leistungsverlust weg. Und leer muss man sie auch nicht machen – ganz im Gegenteil: Werden diese Batterien tief entladen, schadet ihnen das und ihre Lebensdauer sinkt.
Am besten ist es, den Akku-Ladestand möglichst oft und lange zwischen 30 und 70 Prozent zu halten, das erhöht die Lebensdauer der Batterie. Denn auch ein dauerhaft zu hoher Ladestand kann für den Lithium-Ionen-Akku schädlich sein. Wenn Sie einen Akku längere Zeit nicht benutzen und sicher aufbewahren wollen, dann laden Sie ihn nicht zu voll. Am besten sind zwischen 40 und 60 Prozent der Ladekapazität. Generell gilt jedoch: Am längsten hält ein Lithium-Ionen-Akku, wenn man ihn regelmäßig nutzt.
Vor Stürzen und Stößen bewahren

Je kompakter und kleiner die Akkus werden, desto sensibler sind sie. Stürze und Stöße sind für die kleinen Stromspeicher dann eine besondere Gefahr. "Akkus werden kompakter und damit anfälliger. Einmal beschädigt, können sie beim Laden überhitzen und im Extremfall sogar in Brand geraten", sagt Scheuer. Selbst wenn äußerlich nichts zu erkennen ist, kann nach einem heftigen Sturz der Akku defekt sein. Beobachten Sie daher anschließend das Verhalten der Batterie genauer als sonst, um mögliche Probleme rechtzeitig zu entdecken. Im Zweifel sollten Sie den Akku lieber gegen ein Original-Ersatzteil – nicht gegen einen Billig-Nachbau – austauschen.
Lenovo hat ein Rückrufprogramm für bestimmte Lithium-Ionen-Akkus gestartet. Sie wurden zwischen Oktober 2010 und April 2011 mit ThinkPad-Notebooks verkauft. Einem Bericht von Computerworld zufolge sind alleine in den USA um die 34.500 Geräte betroffen. Der Austausch erfolgt nach Herstellerangaben unabhängig vom Garantiestatus kostenlos.

Dem chinesischen Unternehmen ist nach eigenen Angaben eine geringe Anzahl von Vorfällen bekannt. Die US-Consumer Product Safety Commission spricht in einer Pressemitteilung von zwei Fällen, in den Akkus überhitzten und Computer sowie anderes Eigentum der betroffenen Nutzer beschädigt wurden. Ihr zufolge ruft Lenovo auch 2900 Akkus in Kanada zurück. Wie die chinesische Nachrichtenagentur Xinhua meldet, muss Lenovo in seinem Heimatland China sogar 117.732 Akkus austauschen.

Die defekten Akkus wurden in Laptops der Serien ThinkPad Edge 11, 13 und 14 sowie in den Produktreihen T410, T420, T510, W510, X100e, X120e, X200, X201 und X201s verbaut. Lenovo ruft aber auch Austausch-Akkus oder als Zubehör gekaufte Akkus für diese Modelle zurück.Betroffene Kunden können von der Lenovo-Website ein Tool herunterladen und auf ihrem ThinkPad-Notebook ausführen, um herauszufinden, ob ihr Akku von dem Rückruf betroffen ist. Defekte Akkus sollten Lenovo zufolge bei ausgeschaltetem System entfernt werden. Das Gerät könne danach weiterhin mit einem Netzteil betrieben werden.

Eine Rücksendung des defekten Akkus ist nicht notwendig. Lenovo weist Verbraucher aber darauf hin, dass sie zu einer ordnungsgemäßen Entsorgung verpflichtet sind. Die neuen Akkus würden in der Regel innerhalb von drei Arbeitstagen ausgeliefert. Die Lieferzeiten könnten jedoch je nach Land variieren. Auf die neuen Akkus gewährt Lenovo eine begrenzte Herstellergarantie von 90 Tagen.Einzelheiten hat der Hersteller auch zu den betroffenen Akkus veröffentlicht. Demnach handelt es sich um Modelle, die als optionale Akkus oder als Austauschakkus für die unten aufgeführten Modelle verkauft wurden.

Wer im angegebenen Zeitraum ein Lenovo-Notebook oder einen Lenovo-Akku gekauft hat, sollte sich die Anweisungen auf der Lenovo-Webseite durchlesen. Dort kann man sich ein Werkzeug herunterladen, das den Akku identifizieren kann und dann anzeigt, ob die Batterie ausgetauscht werden muss oder nicht. Defekte Akkus müssen dann an Lenovo geschickt werden und sollen im Normalfall binnen drei Tagen ersetzt werden.

Auf der Laptop-Festplatte wird es eng, Windows ruckelt und Programme brauchen eine kleine Ewigkeit zum Starten – insgesamt könnte alles ein wenig schneller laufen. Bis auf ihre Ein-Tasten-Bedienung unterscheiden sich die Mäuse von Apple eigentlich nicht großartig von den Zubehör-Produkten anderer Hersteller. 1998 wollten die Kalifornier mit der Apple USB Mouse allerdings neue Wege beschreiten und verpassten dem Gerät kurzerhand ein rundes Gehäuse. Schnell bekam das Produkt daher den Beinamen "Hockey Puck". Dass sich eine runde Maus mit einer länglichen Hand nur sehr schlecht bedienen lässt, war Apple anscheinend aber vorher nicht aufgefallen. Sicherlich nicht ohne Grund wurde der Verkauf des Hockey Pucks schon 2000 wieder eingestellt.

Der eMate 300 war Apples Versuch, einen günstigen und tragbaren Computer für Schüler und Studenten zu bauen. So richtig erfolgreich war das Gerät allerdings nicht: Nur ein Jahr nach der Vorstellung wurde der Verkauf im Februar 1998 schon wieder eingestellt. Nur böse Zungen würden aber behaupten, dass der Misserfolg etwas mit dem hässlichen Klapp-Design des eMate 300 zu tun hatte. Immerhin besaß der Laptop aber wenigstens einen praktischen Trage-Henkel!
Bei Aldi wird in den kommenden Tagen ein neues Notebook von Medion angeboten, das als Desktop-Replacement ausgelegt ist. Auf den ersten Blick wirkt das Angebot auch ziemlich verlockend - wenn man denn überhaupt ein solches Gerät benötigt. Schaut man aber genauer hin, zeigt sich doch, dass der Hersteller bei der Zusammenstellung der Komponenten ziemlich schief liegt.

Schuld daran ist vor allem die Entscheidung für den Prozessor. Medion verbaut hier den Intel Core i7-6500U. Dabei handelt es sich zwar um einen Chip der neuen Skylake-Generation, doch aus irgendeinem Grund entschied sich das Unternehmen für eine CPU, die eigentlich für den Einsatz in sparsamen Ultrabooks gedacht ist. Für das gleiche Geld hätte es hier durchaus wesentlich mehr Leistung geben können und in einem 17-Zoll-Notebook sollte es auch kein Platzproblem geben, das die Verwendung eines kühler bleibenden Prozessors nötig macht.
Und die Frage der Leistung ist nicht gerade marginal - denn die Ultrabook-CPU bringt nicht gerade die Performance, die man sich von einem Rechner wünscht, der eigentlich als Ersatz für den Desktop-PC gedacht ist. Das gilt insbesondere auch, da Medion hier mit dem Nvidia Geforce GTX 950M einen Grafikchip verbaut, der in keinem Verhältnis zur CPU steht und man mit der zusätzlich vorhandenen SSD wohl eigentlich auf Performance setzen wollte.

Ansonsten bekommt der Nutzer bei dem Gerät ebenfalls das, was man von einem preiswerten Aldi-Rechner erwarten muss: Beim Display wird nicht gerade die beste Qualität verbaut und der Akku ist im Grunde nur darauf ausgelegt, das der Rechner nicht ausgeschaltet werden muss, wenn man einmal zwischen zwei Arbeitsplätzen wechseln muss. Mobiles Arbeiten ist angesichts der doch ziemlich kurzen Laufzeiten kaum sinnvoll.

Prioritizing Performance
Since thinner laptops have less room for battery, they tend to have less powerful chips. Yet the newest chips found in the MacBook and Spectre amp up the processing while remaining relatively efficient.

Apple recently updated the MacBook with the new Intel Core M processor, which is 20% faster than last year’s chip. I noticed it. The previous model took too long to open apps and multitask. The new one’s snappier at my usual routine of juggling multiple browser tabs and apps like Spotify, Microsoft Word and Slack. Slowdowns only start occurring when I throw more graphics-intensive jobs at it in Photoshop. (I’ve changed my mind. It could now potentially replace my three-year-old MacBook Air, though I’d like to see what’s next for the MacBook Pro before deciding.)

The Spectre is available with Intel’s big-boy Core i5 and i7 processors. These can provide up to 25% more power than the Core M processors. In my tests, the Spectre was just as snappy as the MacBook at surfing the web and launching apps, but when it came to editing multiple, large images in Photoshop, the HP was far more cooperative.

Obviamente hay ventajas destacables de tener una pantalla más grande: los textos son más fácil de leer, es más cómodo hacer múltiples tareas y sobre todo, es mucho más agradable para usarla por horas. Además, una pantalla más larga permite un teclado y un panel táctil más largo, tanto como más puertos de lo que podrás obtener en una laptop ultra compactada. También hay distintas ventajas en este equipo más delgado y ligero: es más fácil de llevar a todas partes, por lo que es más probable que lleves tu equipo contigo a algún lugar en vez de dejarla atrás en tu escritorio. Este equipo es maravilloso, el Notebook 9 es una de las pocas computadoras disponibles que trata de hacer ambas cosas.

La desventaja de la delgadez del Notebook 9 es que no se siente tan bien hecha como otros equipos de aluminio. Da la sensación de ser hueca y las bisagras de la pantalla son más flojas de lo que se preferiría. La startup china presentó, a comienzos de mayo en la 'Feria CES Asia' algunos productos realmente sorprendentes, entre los que destacó, sin duda alguna, su maleta robotizada. Este pequeño baúl móvil cuenta con sensores de visión y dos ruedas móviles que permiten seguir a su dueño automáticamente (identificado por una pulsera codificada). Además, la maleta le aguantará todo el trote que la quiera dar, ya que cuenta con una autonomía de hasta 20 kilómetros.

Decir adiós a los días de sufrimiento cargando pesadas maletas por los infinitos pasillos de los aeropuertos y hacerse con su 'fiel maleta' le costará unos 650 dólares, aunque si la reserva de antemano en la página web de la compañía le puede salir por unos 399 dólares. Eso sí, si llega tarde a su embarque no corra, porque puede llegar a perder sus pertenencias, ya que la maleta de Cowa Robot alcanza como máximo los 7,2 kilómetros hora.

Por su parte, la maleta de NUA Robotics, presentada también a comienzos de año, se conecta a través de Bluetooth gracias a una aplicación para el móvil, por lo que siempre sabrá dónde está su maleta. El smartphone le indicará en todo momento su localización, recorrido, peso y estado de la batería (recargable).Funcionan con el sistema operativo Windows 10. Gobernado por los chips Intel Atom, ambos dispositivos tienen una pantalla de 10 pulgadas. En el primero de los casos, este convertible incorpora también el puerto USB Type-C que poco a poco se va extendiendo en el mercado y dispone de un sensor de huellas dactilares. Se puede configurar en dos versiones, de 32 y 64 GB de capacidad. Mientras que éste está pensado para estudiantes, el segundo está más enfocado al uso doméstico al disponer de una cubierta de estética metalizada. Disponibles desde octubre por 249 euros.

Acer también ha dado a conocer otra serie de portátiles, TravelMate, de 14 y 15.6 pulgadas de pantalla y resolución Full HD (1.080 p) que se mueven con el procesador Intel Core de sexta generación e incorpora, además, la tarjeta gráfica Nvidia Geforce 940. Se mueve por el sistema operativo Windows 10 Pro. Se le puede añadir un teclado retroiluminado que incluye una unidad de reproducción de discos DVD y CD. Estará disponible desde octubre por 429 euros.

Además de un monitor con resolución 4K de 32 pulgadas, la firma taiwanesa ha aprovechado la coyuntura para renovar su catálogo de teléfonos móviles inteligentes a pesar de que el mercado de estos productos se está ralentizando. Earlier this month, HP began selling the Spectre, "the world’s thinnest laptop,” according to the company. At 0.41 inch thin, it’s as flat as a single breakfast pancake—bananas not included. More impressive, it doesn’t skimp on processing power, like Apple’s new MacBook does.

The Key(s) to Comfort
The MacBook and the Spectre represent the laptop stripped to its barest parts: screen and keyboard. Yet they’re not like the tablet-keyboard combos, which fail at the whole sitting-on-your-lap thing. The traditional clamshell design makes these a pleasure to use—if you can get used to a few ergonomic shortcomings of their own.

The MacBook’s sturdier, more attractive build is tarnished by a keyboard that looks like it’s been flattened by a dough roller. To make the underside razor-thin, the keys were chopped off and redesigned with a mechanism that aims to recreate the feedback and bounce of real keys. It took some getting used to, but three months in, my hands were so comfortable, it felt a little weird going back to the MacBook Air.

From the start, I loved the MacBook’s large trackpad. Though it’s just a flat, fixed piece of glass, small vibrations and a clicking sound fool you into thinking you’re physically pressing down. It messes with your mind—in a good way.With the Spectre I felt at home on the keyboard in an instant. The keys are a normal height, with more surface area thanks to a 13.3-inch screen (versus the MacBook’s 12-inch display). HP’s trackpad, on the other hand, feels claustrophobic. I also repeatedly encountered issues with it, including jumping cursors and unregistered clicks. HP says it is working on a software update to fix the problems.

The unfixable issue with the Spectre? The fact that it looks like it was designed by Kanye West. The only color option includes a gaudy gold logo and hinge that instantly attract fingerprints. On the other hand, I am entranced by HP’s trippy new logo. It’s like a Magic Eye optical illusion. Does it say HP? Lip? Fiji?Since thinner laptops have less room for battery, they tend to have less powerful chips. Yet the newest chips found in the MacBook and Spectre amp up the processing while remaining relatively efficient.

Apple recently updated the MacBook with the new Intel Core M processor, which is 20% faster than last year’s chip. I noticed it. The previous model took too long to open apps and multitask. The new one’s snappier at my usual routine of juggling multiple browser tabs and apps like Spotify, Microsoft Word and Slack. Slowdowns only start occurring when I throw more graphics-intensive jobs at it in Photoshop. (I’ve changed my mind. It could now potentially replace my three-year-old MacBook Air, though I’d like to see what’s next for the MacBook Pro before deciding.)The Spectre is available with Intel’s big-boy Core i5 and i7 processors. These can provide up to 25% more power than the Core M processors. In my tests, the Spectre was just as snappy as the MacBook at surfing the web and launching apps, but when it came to editing multiple, large images in Photoshop, the HP was far more cooperative.

That speed has some downsides. The Spectre’s fan periodically sounded like it was preparing to cool down an office building. A software fix quieted it down a bit, though it still acts up at times. (The MacBook doesn’t have a fan, and suggests closing programs when it gets warm.)The Spectre also trails behind the MacBook on battery. In my test, which loops a series of websites with brightness set at around 80%, the Spectre ran for 6.5 hours. The MacBook lasted for 8.5 hours, an hour beyond last year’s model. And it pulls that off while driving over a million more display pixels than the HP. In daily use, I found the MacBook still outlasted the Spectre, though both fell short of the 11-hour endurance of the larger MacBook Air and Dell XPS 13. The Spectre and the MacBook are symbols of computing progress, and good news for people shopping for Windows or Mac hardware. Just look how much the MacBook’s performance and battery life improved in one year.

Still, before you are seduced by thinness, ask yourself how much you value portability over ports, performance and battery life—and how much you’d pay for the compromise. The Spectre starts at $1,170 and the MacBook at $1,300. Meanwhile, for under $1,000, you can buy one of their, uh, huskier counterparts.

　「UX305UA」は、CPU内蔵グラフィックスでバッテリー駆動時間は約12時間。本体色は「ブラック」。本体寸法は幅324×奥行き226×高さ16.05mm、重さは約1.3kg。同11万9800円円前後。　ASUS Xシリーズは、17.3型フルHD液晶を搭載した2機種と、13.3型モバイルノート1機種。17.3型液晶搭載モデルは、光学ドライブにDVDスーパーマルチドライブを搭載。バッテリー駆動時間は約3.1時間。本体色は「ダークブラウン」。本体寸法は幅415×奥行き273.5×高さ30.75mm、重さは約2.7kg。「X756UJ」は、Core i7-6500Uと「GeForce 920M」を搭載し同11万9800円円前後。「X756UA」は、Core i5-6200Uを搭載し同11万9800円前後。

　「X302LA」は、13.3型HD（1366×768ドット）液晶とCore i3-5005Uを搭載。光学ドライブは非搭載。バッテリー駆動時間は約6時間。本体色は「ブラック」。本体寸法は幅328×奥行き234×高さ25.6mm、重さは約約1.59kg。同9万1800円前後。

　ASUS VivoBookシリーズは、従来の「ASUS EeeBook」からブランド名を変更した。「E200HA」は、11.6型HD液晶とインテルAtom x5-Z8300、2GBメインメモリー、32GB eMMCを搭載する。バッテリー駆動時間は約12時間。本体色は「ダークブルー」「ホワイト」「ゴールド」の3種類。本体寸法は幅286×奥行き193.3×高さ17.5mm、重さは約980g。同3万4800円前後。

　全機種ともOSはWindows 10 Home。オフィスソフトに「KINGSOF Office」（30日間体験版）、X756UAとX302LAは「Microsoft Office Home & Business Premium プラス Office 365 サービス」をバンドルした。

　ハードディスク（HDD）を採用したパソコンとSSDを搭載したパソコンで、ほかの仕様が全く同じ構成だとしたら、どちらの方がバッテリー駆動時間は長いのだろうか。一般に、SSDの方が消費電力が低いといわれるが、ノートパソコン全体にまで影響を及ぼすものなのか。

　そういう構成を選べるパソコンでバッテリー駆動時間の仕様を比較してみた（図1）。パナソニックの「Let's note SX3プレミアムエディション」である。この製品には、ストレージがSSDのモデルと、内部にフラッシュメモリーを搭載するハイブリッドHDDのモデルがある。

パナソニック株式会社が製造したノートパソコン用バッテリーパックについて、当該製品から出火し、周辺を焼損する火災が発生しました。
当該事故情報は、消費生活用製品安全法第35 条第1 項の規定に基づき、重大製品事故の報告を受け、平成26 年2 月18 日に製品起因が疑われる事故として公表しています。
パナソニック株式会社では、事故の再発防止のため、本日、同社ホームページにおいて、ノートパソコン本体からバッテリーパックを取り外すよう呼びかけるとともに、無償で製品交換を行うことを公表しました。
経済産業省では、対象製品をお持ちの方に対し、事故の再発防止のため、製造事業者が行う製品交換を受けるよう注意喚起を行ってまいります。
パナソニックはこのほど、2011年4月～10月に発売された同社製ノートPC「CF-S10」「CF-N10」シリーズの一部モデルでバッテリーパックに不具合があり、まれに発煙／発火の可能性があると発表した。

　該当するバッテリーパックについては、事故防止のため無料で交換を受け付ける。対象バッテリーパックの詳細、および交換受付はこちらを参照のこと。

VAIOの旗艦機種「VAIO Z」に「クラムシェルモデル」が追加された。ペン入力やマルチフリップ機構を省いた伝統的なフォームファクターのモデルで、シンプルでハイスペックなVAIO Zが欲しかった人にとっては待望のモデルと言えそうだ。従来の2in1タイプは「フリップモデル」という呼称となり、こちらも引き続き販売される。原点回帰とも言える硬派なクラムシェルモデルの個人向け標準仕様モデルを試した。VAIO Zのクラムシェルモデル。今回試した個人向け標準仕様モデルの「VJZ13190211B」は2016年2月26日発売予定。市場想定価格は179,800円（税別）。フリップモデルと比べると、スペックが控えめで価格も安めに設定されている

まずはデザインを見ていきたい。基本的なデザインはフリップモデルから変わっていない。マルチフリップ機構がないため、天版に切れ目がなく、VAIOのロゴが中央に配置されているのが見た目の大きな違いだ。素材は天板部分とパームレストがアルミニウム、ボトム（底面）がカーボンという2つの素材を組み合わせている。アルミニウムの表面には研磨工程・ブラスト加工が施されており、手ざわりのよい仕上がりだ。

本体サイズはフリップモデルと変わらず、約324.2（幅）×215.3（奥行）×15.0～16.8（高さ）mm。重量は約1.17kgで、フリップモデルよりも180gほど軽い。缶コーヒー1本分なので、かなり軽量化されている。クラムシェルモデルで注目すべき点はバッテリー駆動時間だ。カスタマイズモデルの場合、カタログスペックで最長約27時間というVAIO史上最長のバッテリー駆動時間を実現している。フルHD（1920×1080）のディスプレイを選んだ場合という条件付きではあるが、驚異的なスタミナだ。今回試した個人向け標準仕様モデルでも、カタログスペックは約26.1 時間とかなりの長さだ。レビューのために、Webページの閲覧やテキストの入力といった作業をしても、ほとんどバッテリーが減らなかった。さすがにベンチマークソフトを実行すると、バッテリーがみるみる減っていったが、カタログスペック通り、かなりバッテリーは持ちそうな印象を受けた。

定番のバッテリーベンチマークソフト「BBench」（海人氏作）を実行してみたところ、結果は15時間6分。BBenchはWeb巡回間隔60秒、キーストローク間隔10秒に設定し、ディスプレイの輝度は50%にしてテストしたが、なかなか終わらず苦労した。電源アダプターも小型で持ち歩きしやすいが、使い方によっては持ち歩かなくても困らないだろう。

VAIO Zと言えば、やはりハイスペックなのが魅力だ。CPUにはTDP（熱設計電力）が28Wの第6世代Coreプロセッサー（開発コード名Skylake）を採用する。他社製のモバイルノートPCの多くはTDPが15WのCPUを採用しており、それらに比べると高いパフォーマンスが期待できる。同社調べだが、TDPが15WのCPUを搭載したモデルと比べると、CPU性能が30%、グラフィック性能が50%高いという。今回試した個人向け標準仕様モデルは、デュアルコアのCore i5-6267U（2.90GHz、最大3.30GHz）を搭載する。メモリーは4GBで増設ができない仕様なので、メモリーを増やしたい人はカスタマイズモデル（VAIO OWNER MADEモデル）を選択しよう。

パソコンの総合的なパフォーマンスを測定するベンチマークソフト「PCMark 8」のホームユースで想定される使い方をした場合のパフォーマンスを測定する「Home accelerated」のスコア。Core i7-4770HQを搭載した「VAIO Z Canvas」（スコアは3011）には敵わないが、かなりのハイスコアを記録した

ソニー時代から、いち早くSSDを採用するなど、VAIOはストレージへのこだわりが強いモデルだ。クラムシェルモデルのストレージはもちろんSSDだが、NVMe対応のPCI Express 3.0 x4接続に進化している。同社によれば、前世代のVAIO Z（PCI Express 2.0接続のSSD）よりも、ランダムアクセスの性能が2倍以上速くなっているという。ベンチマークソフトを実行したところ、順次読み込みは1.3G～1.4GB/秒の速度が出ていた。動作も非常に軽快で、エクスプローラーやソフトが瞬時に立ちあがる。電源ボタンを押してからデスクトップ画面が表示されまでは8秒しかかからなかった。ZIPファイルの解答やファイルのコピーなど、日常的な操作でも、この高速なSSDが効いてくる。

クラムシェルモデルは、ノングレアの13.3型液晶を搭載。カスタマイズモデルはWQHDとフルHDの2種類から解像度を選べる。写真は個人向け標準仕様モデルで、解像度はフルHDだ。表示品質、明るさ、精細感ともに不満のないレベルだ

キーボードは、キーピッチが19mmと広く、心地よくタイピングできた。ストロークは1.2mmとモバイルノートPCとしては標準的だが、キーの荷重が程よく、しっかりした打鍵感がありながらも、底に当る感じのない柔らかなフィーリングだった。静かなオフィスで使っているときに、打鍵音が静かなのも好印象。また、キートップには「VAIO S11」と同じフッ素含有UV硬化塗装が施されており、汚れが目立ちにくく、ふき取りやすくなっている。長く使うことを考えると、キートップのテカリを防げるのもありがたい。

タッチパッドには、手のひらが触れて起こる誤操作を防ぐパームリジェクション機能が盛り込まれている。親指が触れて起こる誤操作は防げないようだが、手のひらが触れてイライラさせられるようなことは減りそうだ。前モデルと同様、1mm厚の雲母片岩（マイカ）を使っており、クリックしてもたわむこともない。

ハイスペックなモバイルノートPCと言えば、PCメーカー各社が技術の粋を集め、最新技術や最新のトレンドを盛り込むのが一般的だが、あえて旗艦機種に硬派なクラムシェルモデルを追加してきたのは興味深い。同社によると、クラムシェルモデルは、ユーザーの要望に応えて誕生したモデルだという。2in1やペン入力に対応したモデルが増えているとはいえ、まだまだシンプルなクラムシェルタイプのモバイルノートPCを求めている人は多いようだ。

今回、VAIO Zのクラムシェルモデルを試してみて、新鮮味や面白さという点では、フリップモデルのほうが上だが、実用度では間違いなくクラムシェルモデルのほうが上だと感じた。今回試した個人向け標準仕様モデルの市場想定価格は179,800円（税別）。メモリーが4GBで増設もできないのが残念だが、高性能なCPUを搭載しつつ、驚異的なスタミナを実現している点を考えれば妥当だろう。

Bei der Lagerung von Akkus und Geräten mit eingebauter wiederaufladbarer Batterie sollte man den Ladezustand und die Temperatur beachten: "Möglichst in einem Temperaturbereich zwischen 15 und 25 Grad Celsius und bei einem mittleren Ladezustand von 40 bis 60 Prozent", rät Tübke. Deshalb sollte man Akkus vor direkter Sonneneinstrahlung schützen und Smartphones etwa im Hochsommer nicht im Auto liegen lassen.Akkus können übrigens Schaden nehmen, wenn Geräte wie Notebooks oder Smartphones dauerhaft am Stromnetz hängen: Dabei können die Batterien erhitzen und an Lebensdauer einbüßen.

Auch das volle Entladen ist keine Regel mehr, die für Lithium-Ionen-Akkus gelten würde. Im Gegenteil: Eine ständige Nutzung am unteren Rand verkürzt die Lebensdauer ebenso wie dauerhaft hohe Ladestände, erklärt Ralf Traumann.Vor der sogenannten Tiefenentladung schütze bei den modernen Akkus aber ein Batterie-Managementsystem: "Nutzer kennen das zum Beispiel von Smartphones, die ab einem bestimmten niedrigen Ladezustand das Handy herunterfahren."

Mit Akkus sollte nicht gespielt werden Auch wenn sie noch so harmlos wirken mögen, können gerade Lithium-Ionen-Akkus brandgefährlich werden. Man sollte keinesfalls ihre Anschlusspole kurzschließen oder sie mechanisch überlasten, weil sonst Feuergefahr besteht.Immerhin: Den einstmals bei Nickel-Cadmium-Batterien gefürchteten Memory-Effekt gibt es bei modernen Lithium-Ionen-Akkus nicht mehr, weiß ICT-Forscher Tübke. Lithium-Ionen-Akkus ließen sich jederzeit wieder nachladen – auch wenn sie nicht vollständig entladen sind.

"Oftmals wird beim Erstbetrieb das ein- bis zweimalige vollständige Auf- und Entladen empfohlen, um die volle Kapazität nutzen zu können, dagegen spricht nichts, es ist aber auch nicht immer erforderlich."Mit dem Surface Book hat Microsoft das erste vollwertige Notebook vorgestellt. Mit starker Hardware und ebenso ehrgeiziger Designsprache wirbt das Surface Book um die Gunst der anspruchsvollen Kundschaft. Ist es einen Blick wert?Ich war schon immer großer Fan der Microsoft Hardware. Zwischen 1998 und jetzt habe ich immer mindestens ein Stück Hardware von Microsoft besessen. Angefangen bei Tastaturen und Mäusen bis zur Xbox und den aktuellen Smartphones – Microsoft Hardware bedeutete für mich immer Industriedesign vom Feinsten. Und wenn mal nicht alles glatt lief (*hust* Zune und Xbox Controller *hust*) wurde wenigstens schnell nachgebessert. Microsoft lernt schnell und beweist gern langen Atem.

Umso gespannter war ich auf das Surface Book. Die Surface Tablets haben es mir zwar angetan, aber zum Arbeiten nutze ich dann doch lieber ein „echtes" Notebook mit großem Touchpad und langer Akkulaufzeit. Microsoft war so freundlich, mir das Topmodell der Surface Book Reihe für einen Test auszuleihen.Microsoft schafft es immer wieder, Designs zu erfinden, die echte Hingucker sind. Das Surface Book erkennt man auf Anhieb als solches wieder.Nimmt man das Surface Book aus der Packung, merkt man sofort, dass es sich hier um ein Gerät der Premiumklasse handelt. Das Magnesiumgehäuse fasst sich wunderbar kühl an, ist leicht rau und fühlt sich an wie aus einem Guss. Das Gewicht ist dabei hoch genug um hochwertig zu wirken, aber nicht störend.

Die Besonderheit unseres Modells ist aber die dedizierte Nvidia GeForce 940M Grafikeinheit, die sich im Tastatur-Dock befindet und bei Bedarf zugeschaltet wird. Vor allem bei grafikaufwendigen Tätigkeiten wie Videoschnitt mit Adobe Premiere oder Zeichnungen in Adobe Illustrator schaltet sie sich dazu und beschleunigt Berechnungen deutlich. Rendering wird dadurch spürbar beschleunigt und alles erscheint flüssiger, als ohne die dGPU. Auch aktuelle Spiele sind damit spielbar, GTA V lässt sich halbwegs flüssig bei FullHD und niedrigen Einstellungen spielen. Interessant: Falls die Nvidia Grafikeinheit von einem Programm benutzt wird, kann das Tablet nicht von der Tastatur getrennt werden. Hierfür muss erst das Programm beendet werden, dann kann man erst die beiden trennen.Nachtrag: Am nächsten Tag beheben die Stadler-Mechaniker das Klackklack in Null-Komma-Nichts. Und jeden Tag lerne ich mehr über mein Kalkhoff, wie das: Steile Berge im Bayerischen Wald kosten viel Saft, die Akku-Leistung variiert gewaltig - und ein Wolkenbruch ist auch mit E-Bike verdammt nass.

Nach Start der Software zeigt Ihnen das Tool grafisch aufbereitet jede Menge Informationen zum verbauten Akku an. So können Sie etwa anhand eines Graphen die Entladung des Akkus nachvollziehen. Auch über die Kapazität der Batterie gibt das Tool Auskunft. Außerdem gibt BatteryMon eine Schätzung ab, wie lange Ihr Akku noch halten wird.

Die leichte Keilform mit der Lücke zwischen den beiden Elementen ist allerdings gewöhnungsbedürftig. Ich hatte sofort Angst, dass sich Schmutz oder Fremdkörper dazwischen festsetzen könnten. In meinen zwei Wochen Testzeitraum ist zwar nichts passiert, aber so ganz vertraue ich dem Frieden trotzdem nicht.

Seit dem Surface Pro 3 setzt Microsoft auf dem Formfaktor 3:2 bei seinen Displays, den ich wirklich lieben gelernt habe. Ich schaue nicht genug Filme am Rechner um zu verstehen, warum sich überall sonst 16:9 durchgesetzt hat. Das 3:2 Format bietet so viel mehr vertikalen Platz, der beim Surfen und Arbeiten für deutlich mehr Komfort sorgt.Die Farbwiedergabe und Blickwinkelstabilität des Displays ist wie schon beim Surface Pro erstklassig. Das Display wird in der Sonne schön hell aber auch in sehr dunklen Umgebungen ausreichend dunkel um mich nicht zu blenden.

Die des Surface Book funktioniert genauso gut wie die der meisten anderen Laptops heutzutage. Die Tasten sind weit genug voneinander entfernt und beleuchtet. Der Druckpunkt geht in Ordnung. Ich kann mich allerdings immer noch nicht mit den Hoch/Runter Tasten anfreunden, die sich den Platz einer Taste teilen. Gerade in Excel oder Word habe ich oft daneben getroffen. Ich tippe mal drauf, dass das eine Designentscheidung war, damit das Keyboard eine rechteckige Grundfläche hat. Trotzdem blöd.Schon beim Surface Pro 4 war ich überrascht vom guten Sound der gut versteckten Stereolautsprecher. Da habe ich schon deutlich Schlimmeres gehört. Klar muss aber auch sein: Ganz großes Kino können Laptoplautsprecher niemals bieten. Für mich hat es aber immer gereicht.

Microsoft hat bei der Vorstellung des Surface Book großes Augenmerk auf das Scharnier des Surface Book gelegt. Komisch, auch schon bei den Surface Tablets war man sehr stolz auf die Scharniere der Ständer. Es scheint so einige Scharniernerds bei Microsoft zu geben.Das Scharnier des Surface Book ist insofern besonders, als dass die beiden Hälften des Laptops nicht genau aufeinanderliegen, sondern es eine Lücke zwischen den beiden gibt. Mir persönlich gefällt das nicht so. Man hätte da sicher eine andere Lösung finden können, die auch das Abdocken der Displayeinheit zugelassen hätte.

Das Surface Book hat sogar zwei Akkus. Der Größere von beiden befindet sich dabei in der Basiseinheit, die auch die Tastatur und die Grafikkarte beherbergt. Das führt dazu, dass die Tableteinheit mit dem großen Display über keine besonders gute Akkulaufzeit verfügt. Im Alltag mit ein bisschen Surfen und Youtube war bei mir nach gut 2 Stunden Schluss. Nutzt man das Surface Book als Laptop, ist die Akkulaufzeit dann natürlich deutlich besser. Allerdings habe ich die beworbenen 12 Stunden nie erreicht.Bei meiner Nutzung (Chrome mit durchschnittlich 5 Tabs, ab und zu Youtube, Spotify im Hintergrund, ab und an Lightroom und Photoshop) waren es eher 8 bis 9 Stunden. Immer noch ziemlich gut, aber eben nicht so gut wie manche andere Geräte. Das liegt aber zum Großteil auch an der Performance, die das Surface Book bei Bedarf abrufen kann. Ein i7 mit 16GB RAM und dedizierter Grafikkarte wird nun mal auch im Leerlauf etwas mehr Energie verbrauchen, als weniger potente Systeme.

Gut mitgedacht von Microsoft: Der Akku im Basismodul entleert sich als Erstes. So kann ich später trotzdem das Tablet abdocken, ohne dass dort der Akku dann nur noch 30 Minuten hält.Das Surface Book ist anschlussseitig für meinen Geschmack etwas dünn ausgestattet. 2x USB 3.0, 1x Mini Display Port und SD-Kartenleser müssen reichen. Ein weiterer universeller Anschluss wie Thunderbolt wäre noch sehr nett gewesen. So dünn wie das Surface Book ist, gibt es aber auch einfach sehr wenig Platz für Anschlüsse.

Der 3,5mm Klinkenstecker für Kopfhörer befindet sich sinnvollerweise in der Tablet-Einheit, ist bei der Nutzung als Laptop dann aber doch seltsam positioniert. Das Kabel der Kopfhörer hing mir des Öfteren über der Tastatur herum oder im Bild.Bei anderen OEMs wie Acer, HP, Lenovo und wie sie nicht alle heißen muss man als Käufer ja oft nach dem Auspacken einige Arbeit investieren, um die diverse Bloatware vom neuen Laptop zu bekommen. Nicht so beim Surface Book (zum Glück!). Microsoft liefert hier ein pures Windows 10 Image aus, bei dem selbstverständlich alle Treiber schon mit dabei sind.

Nicht ganz so verständlich ist, warum diese mitgelieferten Treiber teilweise deutlich schlechter performen als die Originaltreiber der Hardwarehersteller. Wie schon beim Surface Pro 4 bringt zum Beispiel erst die Installation der SSD-Treiber von Samsung die wahre Performance der 512GB SSD zum Vorschein. Und die NVIDIA-Systemsteuerung bringt deutlich mehr Funktionen mit, als die minimalen Einstellungsmöglichkeiten in Windows.

Als das Surface Book herauskam, wurde die Freude vieler früher Käufer durch diverse Bugs getrübt. Da las man von extremen Stromverbauch im Standby, einem Dockmechanismus, der nur manchmal funktioniert und noch diversen kleineren Bugs.Microsoft hat in den letzten Monaten einige Patches veröffentlicht, die diese Bugs größtenteils beseitigt haben sollen, weswegen ich auch gar nicht böse darüber war, das Surface Book erst jetzt zum Test zu haben.Leider waren die bisherigen Updates aber zumindest bei meinem Testgerät noch nicht in der Lage, alle Fehler auszumerzen. Ich bin in meinen zwei Wochen mit dem Gerät regelmäßig über Bugs gestolpert. Manche davon waren „nur" nervig, einer jedoch hat mich am Ende des Testzeitraums eine ganze Nacht wachgehalten. Hier ein paar Beispiele:

Das Surface Book verfügt wie das Surface Pro 4 auch über die Möglichkeit, sich mithilfe der Frontkamera anzumelden. Wenn das funktioniert, funktioniert es hervorragend. Ich liebe das Feature einfach! Im Surface Book war es allerdings Glückssache, ob sich die Kamera beim Booten aktivierte oder nicht. In mehr als der Hälfte der Fälle erschien nur der Text „Die Kamera wird eingeschaltet" und das wars dann.Einmal wollte das Surface Book zudem auch keine andere Form der Anmeldung zulassen. Die Lösung: Reset und Neustart. Super wenn man noch ungespeicherte Änderungen in Photoshop offen hat.

Der Dockmechanismus wird beim Surface Book über Software gesteuert. Man kann das Tablet nicht von der Tastatureinheit trennen, wenn das Surface Book aus ist. Leider war auch die Softwarefunktion in Windows 10 manchmal nicht bereit, das Tablet abzudocken. Mehrmaliges Hämmern auf die Hardwaretaste zum Auswerfen auf der Tastatur half zwar meist, aber so richtig habe ich immer noch nicht verstanden, was genau das Problem war.Die beiden vorherigen Bugs lassen sich durch die Problembehandlung in der Systemsteuerung beheben, allerdings nur bis zum nächsten Neustart. Hmpf.Das Touchpad des Surface Books ist qualitativ vergleichbar mit einem MacBook. Genau, groß, reagiert super – solange es funktioniert. In zwei Wochen ist es mir drei Mal passiert, dass das Touchpad einfach nicht mehr reagierte. Lösung: Neustart. Erkennt ihr ein Muster?

Akku HP Pavilion g7

Ein Jahr jünger ist dieses MacBookPro mit 2,2 GHz schnellem Core i7 und mattem 15-Zoll-Display. Der Original-Akku hatte zwar auch eine Kapazität von 77,5 Wattstunden, ist aber etwas anders aufgebaut als bei dem Vorgänger. Er war bereits einmal durch einen billigen Nachbau ersetzt worden, der seinerseits so aufgebraucht war, dass der Rechner ohne Netzteil nicht mehr lief. Im deutschsprachigen Store Akkus-Markt.de fanden wir Ersatz mit 7000 mAh und 10,95 Volt, was 76,7 Wh entspricht. Betreiber des Shops ist der oben erwähnte Sun Logistik Service, eine Telefonnummer findet sich auf der gesamten Website nicht.

In der Packung lagen die nötigen Schraubendreher, sodass der Einbau schnell über die Bühne ging. Beim Aufladen erlebten wir allerdings eine Überraschung: Der Akku war nach Stunden immer noch nicht voll. Daraufhin schrieben wir den Anbieter per E-Mail an und schilderten das Problem. Zur Antwort kam: "Das macht nichts, bitte machen Sie sich keine Sorge. Wenn Sie andere Ware brauchen, mehr Rabatt wird angeben." Nun ja: nicht gerade vertrauenserweckend. Irgendwann war der Akku dann doch voll und hielt 5:42 Stunden durch - ein guter Wert. Das zweite Laden brauchte dann wieder mehrere Stunden zuviel. Reset von SMC und PRAM halfen nicht. Letztlich ließ sich nicht ermitteln, ob der Akku die Probleme bereitete oder die Ladeelektronik im MacBook einen Schaden hatte. Für Letzteres spricht, dass schon zwei Akkus in vier Jahren verschlissen wurden. Bei dem Preis lohnt sich die Reparatur für so ein Schätzchen mit mattem Display aber auch, wenn sie nur zwei Jahre hält.

Eine weitere Surface-Alternative stammt von Huawei. Dessen Matebook will offensichtlich nicht nur mit Microsoft und Samsung, sondern genauso mit Apples iPad Pro konkurrieren. Einerseits kann beim Matebook wie beim Surface zwischen verschiedenen Prozessoren gewählt werden (Intel Core m3, m5, m7) – die noch stärkeren i5 und i7 werden jedoch nicht angeboten. Dass mit Ausnahme mit USB Typ C auf fast alle Anschlüsse verzichtet wurde, zeigt klar den Wettbewerb mit Apple. Wer mehr Anschlüsse will, kann von Huawei eine Docking-Station erwerben. Die Preise für das Matebook liegen je nach Ausstattung zwischen 800 und 1800 Euro, Stift und Tastatur zählen zum Zubehör. Steckt das Tablet in der Tastatur, stehen wie beim Samsung-Konkurrenten zwei Klappstufen zur Verfügung.

Eine Akku-Ladung des iPad Pro hält bis zu neun Stunden. Das Surface Book schafft bis zu 12 Stunden – aber nur wenn Clipboard und Sockel verbunden sind, so dass insgesamt zwei Akkus Strom liefern. Der Akku im Clipboard macht allein deutlich schneller schlapp. In einem Fall war schon nach 90 Minuten Schluss, andere Tester berichten von vier Stunden Laufzeit. Einen ganzen Tag lang kommt das Clipboard des Surface Book jedenfalls nicht allein klar.Dass der Surface Pen magnetisch am Gehäuse des Surface Book befestigt werden kann, bietet unterwegs leider keinen Vorteil. In einer Tasche löst sich der Stift leicht und muss dann genauso separat verstaut werden wie der Apple Pencil.

Beide Geräte sind für Journalisten empfehlenswert. Einen klaren Gewinner sehe ich jedoch nicht. Es kommt auf das Setup an. Wer einen mobilen Allround-Rechner sucht, der bei Bedarf zum Hauptcomputer werden soll, greift zum Microsoft Surface Book. Es ist ein erstklassiger Laptop mit Tablet-Fähigkeiten als Bonus. Als eigenständiges Tablet kommt das Surface Book nicht an das iPad Pro heran. Das iPad Pro mit 12,9-Zoll-Display ist inklusive Smart-Keyboard und Apple Pencil ideal für kreative Anwender, die ein Companion-Gerät im Apple-Universum für unterwegs suchen und im Büro am iMac oder MacBook Pro arbeiten. Das Konzept des Hybridrechners wird immer besser, lässt in der Praxis aber noch Luft nach oben. Die Grundsatzentscheidung zwischen Tablet und Notebook ist zwar Vergangenheit, allerdings bleibt die Frage bestehen, ob Anwender mehr Tablet-Anteile oder mehr Notebook-Anteile bevorzugen.

Dezember nicht nur Microsofts Einsteiger-Smartphone Lumia 550, sondern auch ein relativ leistungsfähiges Notebook im Programm. Das Medion P7644 (MD 99650) kommt mit mattem 17,3-Zoll-Bildschirm, einer Core-i7-CPU aus Intels aktueller Prozessorgeneration Skylake, SSD- und Festplattenspeicher sowie einer dedizierten Nvidia-Grafik des Typs Geforce GTX 950M. Der Windows-10-Rechner kostet 899 Euro.

Der energieeffiziente Core i7-6500U verfügt über zwei Kerne, die standardmäßig mit 2,5 GHz takten und bis zu vier Threads gleichzeitig verarbeiten können. Im Turbomodus erreicht der Chip einen Takt von maximal 3,1 GHz. An Arbeitsspeicher verbaut Medion 8 GByte RAM. Betriebssystem und Anwendungen finden auf einer 256 GByte großen SSD Platz und starten von dort schneller als von einer herkömmlichen Festplatte. Eine solche HDD mit einer Kapazität von 1 TByte steht aber ebenfalls zur Verfügung, womit ausreichend Speicher für Daten vorhanden sein dürfte.

Das 43,9 Zentimeter große IPS-Display mit LED-Hintergrundbeleuchtung hat eine Full-HD-Auflösung von 1920 mal 1080 Bildpunkten. Während es im 2D-Betrieb unter Windows von der in der Skylake-CPU integrierten Intel-Grafik angesteuert wird, übernimmt bei grafikintensiven Anwendungen oder Spielen die deutlich leistungsfähigere Nvidia-GPU mit 2 GByte dediziertem GDDR3-Speicher.

An Schnittstellen bietet das Medion P7644 einen USB-3.0-Anschluss und zwei USB-2.0-Ports. Zusätzlich gibt es eine USB-Typ-C-Buchse (USB 3.1), die ein verdrehsicheres Einstecken des Kabels erlaubt. Über einen HDMI- sowie einen VGA-Ausgang lassen sich zudem externe Monitore anschließen. Ein Audio-Kombi-Anschluss für Kopfhörer und Mikrofon ist ebenso vorhanden wie ein SD-Kartenleser.

Zur Kommunikation dienen ein Gigabit-Ethernet-Port, WLAN nach dem aktuellen IEEE-Standard 802.11ac und Bluetooth 4.0. Ein Multi-Layer-DVD-Brenner, eine HD-Webcam mit Mikrofon und Stereolautsprecher mit Dolby-Audio-Premium-Zertifizierung gehören zur weiteren Ausstattung.

Das Medion P7644 misst 42 mal 28 mal 2,8 Zentimeter und wiegt 2,85 Kilogramm. Sein 6-Zellen-Akku liefert 47,5 Wattstunden, was für eine Laufzeit von bis zu sechs Stunden reichen soll. Als Betriebssystem ist Windows 10 Home vorinstalliert. Wie bei seinen Rechnern üblich liefert Medion auch diverse Multimedia-Anwendungen mit. Außerdem sind eine zeitlich befristete, kostenlose Testversion von Office 365 sowie eine 30-Tage-Testversion von McAfee LiveSafe an Bord. Die Garantiezeit beträgt wie bei allen von Aldi vertriebenen Medion-Geräten drei Jahre.

Eine Alternative zum Medion P7644 mit weitgehend identischer Ausstattung hinsichtlich Displaydiagonale, Prozessor, Arbeitsspeicher, Festplatte und Betriebssystem sind das Acer Aspire E5-773G-77G0 und das HP Pavilion 17-g120ng. Allerdings fangen die Preise für das ebenfalls mit mattem Display ausgestattete Acer-Notebook online aktuell erst bei 969 Euro an – obwohl lediglich eine 128 GByte große SSD und eine Nvidia Geforce 940M verbaut sind. Das HP-Notebook kostet im Shop des Herstellers 949 Euro und ist aktuell nirgends günstiger. Es bietet in der Basisausstattung ebenfalls ein mattes Display und eine Geforce 940M, verzichtet aber auf eine SSD. Alles in allem bietet Aldi Süd mit dem Medion P7644 also ein technisch wie preislich attraktives Gesamtpaket an.

Es geht nur um die Bauform: Wer den neuen Thinkpad X1 Yoga von Lenovo in die Hand nimmt, erkennt sofort, dass sich dieses Oberklasse-Notebook am Thinkpad X1 Carbon orientiert, also an dem Business-Gerät des chinesischen Herstellers. Die beiden sind Geschwister mit jeweils äußerst robustem Gehäuse aus Kohlefaser, spritzwassergeschützter Tastatur und 14-Zoll-Display. Zu Preisen, die schnell an die 2000-Euro-Grenze stoßen, bekommt man Spitzentechnik mit wenig Gewicht (1,2 Kilogramm). Die Besonderheit des Yoga ist das vollständig nach hinten klappbare Display, man spricht von einem Convertible. Hat man die Anzeige gedreht, lässt sich das Gerät mit dem berührungsempfindlichen Display und einem Stift bedienen, die Tastatur auf der Rückseite muss man sich „wegdenken". Abnehmen lässt sich die Anzeige nicht.

Funktioniert der Dreh mit dem Dreh? Wer daran denkt, das Notebook auf diese Weise zusätzlich als Tablet zu nutzen, muss Größe (33 × 23 × 1,7 Zentimeter) und Gewicht beachten. Das ist schon ein Trumm von Tablet, das man auf jeden Fall mit beiden Händen hält. Stift und berührungsempfindliches Display erlauben ein gutes Arbeiten, der Stift findet im Gerät ein Zuhause, und sein Akku wird in der Halterung geladen. Mit der Handschrifterkennung Write it von Lenovo kann man Felder in anderen Apps ausfüllen.

Acer bietet zahlreiche Produktlinien innerhalb der VN7-Familie an. V15- und V17-Modelle unterscheiden sich durch den jeweiligen 15,6-Zoll und 17,3-Zoll Formfaktor, zusätzlich gibt es verschiedene Leistungsklassen. Die neuen VN7-572-Modelle tragen neben der integrierten Intel HD Graphics 520 noch Mittelklasse-Grafikchips in Form der Nvidia Geforce 945M oder Geforce GTX 950M, wie in unserem Testgerät. Bei den stärkeren VN7-592 Notebooks, welche zusätzlich als „Nitro Black Edition" firmieren, weicht das optische Laufwerk einem weiteren Lüfter für mehr Kühlpotenzial. Den Fokus auf mehr Leistung verdeutlichen der Wechsel auf Intel Skylake Quadcore-Prozessoren anstelle der stromsparenden U-Serie sowie die stärkere Nvidia Geforce GTX 960M-Grafikkarte. Preislich fängt die 15-Zoll Black Edition bei 1.299 Euro an, unser Testmodell Acer V15 VN7-572G-72L0 zählt mit einem Preis von 1.199 Euro zu den teuersten Ausstattungsvarianten der normalen „Nitros", deren günstigste Variante bei rund 900 Euro beginnen. Egal welches VN7 – ihr müsst also schon etwas tiefer in die Tasche greifen als beim durchschnittlichen Notebook, das so um die 600 Euro rangiert.

Für die 1.199 Euro bietet das 2,4 Kilo leichte 15-Zoll Gerät ein Full HD-Display, einen Intel Core i7-6500U-Prozessor nebst 8 GB DDR4-Arbeitsspeicher und eine Nvidia Geforce GTX 950M-Grafik. Als Laufwerke finden sich eine 128 GB-SSD, eine 1 TB-Festplatte und ein DVD-Brenner. Damit ist das handliche Nitro auch ein mobiles Desktop-Replacement, welches für Multimedia, Spiele, Office und Kommunikation eingesetzt werden kann. Ob in der Uni oder zuhause, 3D-Games oder PDF – mit dem Acer V15 VN7-572G-72L0 als Allrounder müsst ihr erstmal auf kein Einsatzgebiet verzichten.

Nur unwesentlich hat Acer das spannende Erscheinungsbild des V7-572G verändert: Das schwarze Design legt großen Wert auf die Haptik, dieses Notebook will ganz klar auch angefasst werden. Nicht nur der Display-Deckel bietet mit seiner Riffelstruktur eine angenehme Oberfläche, der komplette Innenraum und die Unterseite schmeicheln den Händen des Benutzers mit einer weichen Gummierung. Das Acer-Logo und das im Widerstand angemessen dimensionierte Display-Scharnier setzen mit ihrer Chromoptik Akzente. Mit einem Druck auf den Power-Button oben rechts in der Tastatur aktiviert sich auch die rote Hintergrundbeleuchtung und verschiebt den Ersteindruck des bis dato eher unauffälligen Acer VN7 deutlich in Richtung Gaming.

Auch die Chiclet-Tastatur wurde mattiert, insgesamt hat Acer dem Kunststoffchassis ein hochwertiges Look & Feel verpasst. Dank komfortablem Druckpunkt erlaubt die Tastatur stressfreies Schreiben, das Milchglas-Touchpad reagiert schnell und erstaunlich präzise. Auch hinsichtlich der Stabilität hinterlässt unser Testgerät einen tadellosen Eindruck.

Kritische Stellen, wie beispielsweise das Tastaturbett unter den Tasten F9-F10, geben keinen Millimeter nach. Der Display-Deckel weist einen äußerst weiten Öffnungswinkel auf und kann erst bei mittlerem Kraftaufwand gebogen werden. Wie jedes ausfahrbare DVD-Multilaufwerk wackelt auch der DVD Brenner im Acer VN7. Da die Blende gleichmäßig abschließt, drehen wir dem Gerät aber keinen Strick daraus. Wer seinen 5 Jahre alten Laptop mit dem Acer VN7-572G-72L0 ersetzt, wird auf jeden Fall Augen machen ob der Optik, die hier geboten wird und die durchaus ein wenig an Gaming-Notebooks von Alienware erinnert.

Angesichts der Preisklasse und des Einsatzgebietes des Acer VN7-572G darf man ein erstklassiges Display und voluminöse Lautsprecher erwarten. Büroarbeiten gehören zwar auch ins Tätigkeitsfeld, der Fokus liegt aber auf Multimedia in Form von YouTube, Musikstreaming, Filmen, Serien, Bildbearbeitung, Videoschnitt und natürlich auch Gaming.

Developed by scientists at the University of Birmingham, in the UK, SAT's new antenna replaces as many as five separate antennas found in a standard laptop.
Dr Sampson Hu, who founded SAT in 2013 is pictured above (photo: John James). He says conventional antennas cannot be located immediately next to each other because of signal interference which leads to reduced performance.
Dr Hu, 33, who has raised a total of £3.3 million from investors to develop SAT's antenna system, said: 'Within the current laptop the antennas for Wi-Fi or a mobile signal need to be separate so there is no interference of frequencies.
'If the laptop has a metal casing then it is impossible to embed an antenna on the top of laptop screen or motherboard and the antenna must sit in the hinge cavity.
'However, the hinge cavity is a very limited space in which laptop manufactures can only fit two conventional antennas, one for Wi-Fi and one for 3G/4G LTE. If conventional antennas are brought so close together interference degrades efficiency and increases battery usage.

'Additionally If a laptop has metallic covers there is no other space to locate the second conventional Wi-Fi antenna and 3G/4G LTE antennas to support Multi-Input-Multi-Output (MIMO) function to provide enhanced data download rates.
'That's the problem we have overcome with our integrated MIMO antenna system. All the antennas are combined together as one single system.'
The patented MIMO antenna system improves both data download rates and battery life.
Dr Hu said: 'Our antenna system structure is a world first as it means all the antenna functionality is wrapped into one simple assembly, reducing the cost and size.
'Another problem that affects laptops is if you are working on a laptop and your hand is placed on the keyboard it often interferes with any of the five antennas. With our invention there is no interruption.'
Dr Hu, originally from Guangdong in China, invented the MIMO antenna system while completing his PhD at the University of Birmingham.

SAT is in discussions with Sony to manufacture the antenna system at the Japanese giant's Technology Centre near Cardiff in Wales.
This 'emerging star' from University of Birmingham also benefits from the expertise of Dr Colin Tucker, former CTO and COO at Orange for European business, and the founding CEO of 3, the first 3G operator in the UK, who sits on the Board as Executive Chairman.
Dr Tucker said 'SAT is a spin out company that has taken academic research and turned it into a high value mass produced product. SAT has raised both significant equity funding and UK government grants which have enabled it to build a substantial business and provide a growing number of high value jobs. The next stage of growth will bring high volume UK production and associated export revenues.
'Many people complain that in the UK is slow at commercialising academic inventions but SAT has shown that British companies can successfully do this and compete on the world stage.'

However, Microsoft is set to launch an Anniversary Update to Windows 10 this summer, which will see Edge level the playing field with Google Chrome and offer comparable features.
To make sure the additional features do not affect batter power, Microsoft is introducing power-saving enhancements, such as more efficient processor management.
Despite these findings, a spokesperson for Google told MailOnline: 'We've made significant improvements to power consumption in the past few releases, and it’s an area of continued focus and investment.

These batteries have the potential to overheat, posing a fire and burn hazard to customers.
